Three days have passed since Vinir had sent word to the new dark elf king. A pigeon arrived this morning letting him know that Vitonreik had accepted his proposal for a truce. He was going to let his daughters know at breakfast; The man had a chipper bounce to his stride as he made his way to the dining hall. Seeing his wife and daughters brought a smile to his heart. Vinirs eyes lingered on Adrelieah. His precious second born daughter.
His heart ached knowing she was going to be the new kings bride. She was a very strong and obedient daughter though so he had hoped she was going to be the kings pick. His other daughters were just as precious to him but knowing Adre was going to be the one to hold the truce he felt at ease. Adrelieah noticed her fathers stare lingering on her as she cleared her throat. "Father. You seem... Distracted" she mentioned as she studied her father.
Vinir couldn't help but nod at her comment. "Very perceptive of you Adrelieah" He walked over and greeted his family sitting next to his wife. After taking his seat he cleared his deep throat before he spoke. "We got pigeon mail from Dökkálfar" After he spoke that one sentence the rather large dining hall seats noise. The room became eerily quiet and no ones dared to speak until he was finished. Vinirs hand reached for the chalice of wine taking a sip before placing it down.
"He has accepted my marriage proposal and chosen a bride." He watched his daughters reaction and all of them had different ones. The twins looked intrigued or excited as Adre looked like she didnt want to be in this room and his second eldest looked neutral. The twins went to grill Vinir with questions but he placed his finger up commanding silence.
"Adrelieah. He has chosen you as his bride and will be here in five days time" Adre looked up at her father like he was a stranger. Her heartbeat increased as she shivered. Her? The dark elf king chose her? How could she be so unfortunate. Adre stayed frozen in her seat with her eyes glued to the food on the plate in front of her. This was a nightmare.
After a minute of silence Adre gently pushed her plate away from her. "I seem... to have lost my appitite; May I be excused father?" Her fathers eyes studied her. "My child this is for the good of the realm. Our people even. We could possibly open the Alfeim bridge again" her father piercing his lips together as he made a dissatisfied wave of his hand. "Do well to remember that"
His voice faded as Adre quickly made her way to her room, She was always taught that she would be a bride of someone who matched her importance but to a man who lived in the enemies castle? It made her nervous. After pacing in her room like a lunatic for an hour trying to find a solution a maid knocked ushering in. "Princess, A bath to calm your nerves" Adre looked over seeing Illiana a maid that has taken care of her since she was little.
Adre couldn't help it when Illiana was around she wanted to smile. Adrelieah smiled gently. "How'd you know?" Illiana's mossy green eyes stared into Adre's pale purple ones. "Let's just say maternity instinct" illiana has salt and peppered hair that reached bast her waist. It used to be a beautiful almond color but Adre was fine with the salt and peppered look. "Just use some stuff to calm me in the bath water?" Illiana made her way to the bathroom where there was a huge bear claw tub. She vegan to put soothing agents for the princess in the water such as Hibiscus, Epsin salt, Lavender petals and more. Once the tub was filled and ready she let the princess know it was ready for her following her.
Once they went into the bathroom Adre slipped out of her gown before setting into the tub sinking into it with a satisfied sigh. It felt like heaven to her bones and kept her mind off of the fact she was now engaged to her enemy.
The elven princess stayed in the large tub until the water began to grow cold. Getting out she took the towel Illiana helft left for her drying herself before grabbing the white see through robe and making her way to her large California king bed. Today was a rather long shocking day for her so she was definitely tired. Adrelieah fell down onto the bed with a groan crawling up to the middle and under the covers snuggling into her rather plush bed letting the darkness claim her.
The next morning she was women up with breakfast on a tray. "Morning sleepy head" Chirped illiana as she set the food down for Adrelieah.
Adre stretched and groaned out a yawn as she slowly fluttered her eyes to get them to open and close correctly. Once she noticed the food in front of her she smiled. "Thanks Illi" she said as she began to dig into the delicious breakfast that was brought to her.
Adre sighed her hands dropping to her sides. "I'm assuming you heard of my Engagement?" The older elf hummed in agreement. She knew, Her Adre was just to beautiful she was hoping the king would choose her.
She had the purest heart put of the princess's and Illiana knew she would make a good queen. Illiana slapped her back fo cheer her up. "You are going to be a great Queen Adre. You are obedient and perceptive. You know how to read certain situations like you mother does." Adre sat down as Illiana began to brush her hair. Illiana paused opening the door letting the others know she was ready. Four other maids came into her room and began to help her get ready.
Sometimes she had wished Illiana could be the only one to take care of her needs but she knew that would he selfish and a lot of work on Illiana.
