Mated to a Goddess

Prologue

The Sky Domain where God's dwell exists high in the sky where the pale moon meets the blinding sun. At the heart of this domain was the castle of the King and Queen of the gods. Many believed they were meant to be together. Sol God of the Sun, and Selene Goddess of the Moon. Deep within the castle a storm brewed, for the Moon was finally trying to separate from the Sun...

"You'd really rather him...? That insignificant mortal, over me?!" bellowed the God. Selene stood calm and serene, she was not affected by Sol's fury as she once was. He was her opposite, lord of the sun, while she was the mistress of the moon and night.

"I am sorry if this hurts you Sol." Selene spoke quietly "You have been my closest friend over the centuries, but I do not feel for you as you do for me. I did not intend to fall in love with Syrus, it just happened. I plan to tell him this evening who I really am."

Sol's expression darkend even further upon hearing Selene's words. He paced in agitation trying to think of a way for Selene to be his. Suddenly he got a wretched but brilliant idea.

"Very well Selene, you want to be with your Syrus? I'll let you be with him for eternity. I'll bind his soul to yours, as you do for your wolves. He shall be your true mate. After he has accepted you as you are and you have completed the mating process, you'll be allowed back within the sky domain. Until then you're banished! You will walk upon the earth until such a time you can find your Syrus and be with him long enough to complete the bond! As for him? He is doomed to die within a forthnight of your first meeting!" Sol snapped.

Selene could feel panic her panic setting in... how could she possibly manage to complete the mate bond?! Syrus was a human, he had no clues about the supernatural world, and she did not have the heart to bring him into that world without him choosing it. The transformation into a wolf would take him 8 days....

"Do not fret my dear Queen." Sol cooed at her "I am not so cruel as to separate two lovers. Your Syrus will be reborn, again and again until you succeed. Either that, or you'll have to reject him and renounce your...love.. for him. Should that be the path you take you'll come back to me!"

Selene trembled as the tears that had built behind her eyes streaked down her pale cheeks. She would endure, for her Syrus, and the love they shared she would endure. Even if it took an eternity...
