Caelid's POV
Stepping out of the black SUV that had brought them here, Caelid glanced around, the Whitewater Coven compound looked as disheveled as always. Women milled about the giant property in different states of undress, uncaring who saw them, the cottage style house they all lived in had toilet paper strung over parts of the house that jutted out, probably from one of the many ragers the Witches loved to throw, and red solo cups littered the front yard. Pursing his lips and blowing out a breath, he shook his head. Did he really need to keep doing bussiness with these hooligans? Sure they had some of the best warding spells around, but working with them just felt... trashy.
Ignoring the cat calls he was getting from the loitering women, he made his way towards the house, knowing full well he needed to re-up their wards around the pack perimeter. Long dark, almost black shoulder length wisps of hair fell from his messy ponytail and into his face, catching on his chisled but stubble covered jaw. Very full and kissable lips blew a strand out of his face as he growled under his breath about cutting all the damned hair off. Rolling a massive set of shoulder, he straightened his spine to stand at his full 6'5" glory. Clad in a very simple black blazer and matching black suit pants with a white undershit, everything was hand tailored to him, and it showed; every piece of clothing looked elegantly poured over his behemoth frame, even the black shiny shoes on his feet felt perfect for the walking mountain. Pale honey colored eyes clocked the location of every woman on the property, especially the ones who moved closer to him to try and touch him one way or another.
Finally able to walk past the moving sea of groping hands outside, he made it to the door, opening without knocking, knowing that the Witches inside were expecting him and by now someone outside must have said something to the Coven leader Leena. Before closing the door behind him, the warm smell of freshly baked bread and vanilla with honey washed over him, making all the hairs on his body stand on edge. Running the tip of his tongue over his bottom lip, he paused to breathe it in deeper. A new candle maybe?
"No, mate..." His wolf growled it into the dark of his mind, making his c**k throb. No, it couldn't be... Not bothering to close the door now, Caelid stepped further into the house, folowing his nose and breezing right past Leena as she bumped into him and tried to speak to him.
"I've got those wards you were asking for, and a couple extra from a no show buyer-" She cut herself off as he easily brushed past her. "Hey asshole, I'm talking to you, Caelid!" But he paid her no mind, his wolf was losing it'smind inside of him, his blood boiling hotter than it had ever in his life, all he wanted was that smell.
Now speed walking past a few rooms and hallways, he stood in front of a wooden door that was firmly shut. Growling under his breath, he turned around to face the dark skinned Goddess of a woman known as Leena. Her eyes shone bright green, her anger radiating out of those hatefilled orbs. Before she could berate him, he pointed back at the closed door, "Whose room is this?" He could feel his eyes try and cloud over yellow, his wolf trying to leak through his human face.
"I can't believe you didn't even say hi, you ungrateful son of a-" She cut herself off agan to blink at him, like a deer in headlights. "What?"
"Whose. Room. Is. That." He said it again, only this time a growl carried each of his words, Gods above he needed whoever was in that damned room.
Leena pursed her lips, and bent to the side a bit to look around his hulking frame. He watched her face cloud over in thought and the gears turning as she tried to recall whose room this was; not an easy task for a house that sometimes housed twenty or so people at any given time. Tapping a sharpened nail to her chin, her eyes lit up as it came to her.
"OH, that's Mari. She just moved here, I should really be asking you why it matters" She said matter-of-factly, her hands going to her hips as she jutted one out with attitude.
"You don't just get to come into my compound and not at least say hi before demanding things of me, jackass." Her bottom lip pouted itself out, doing its best to quiver as if she was actually upset.
Caelid turned away from her, looking at the door as if that would alone open it. "Mari..." He let the name dance off of his tongue, his wolf howling at the sound of it in our mouth. Turning back to Leena, he put his hands on her shoulders, his massive mits enclosing over her dainty shoulders with ease. "Can she be the witch to re-up the wards?"
"What? No-, Caelid, she only just got in a few days ago. I'm sure she is exhausted and just wants time to sle-" One of his sausage fingers gently pressed against her lips making the woman shudder and a smile spread over her lips.
"Please Leena, I don't ask of much. It has to be her."
The smile wiped its way off of Leena's face and was quickly replaced with a frown, her brow furrowing. "Why? Out of all the Witches in this damned compound, why her?" After a moment of silence rung out between them, her eyes lit up again. Her ticker was ticking.
"Oh no... Caelid, please tell me she isn't her?"
He didn't even have to clarify what she meant by that, he just silently nodded as his palms itched. It was getting hard to resist the urge to rip Mari's door off the hinges and just take her, her smell was blanketing around him and stirring all the primal urges inside of him he had only heard stories about. His poor c**k would turn blue if it stayed this hard much longer in these tight ass pants he had on. "Please..." He said it one more time, hoping Leena would let Mari do the warding, praying that the Mother Wolf Reika would help him convince Leena to let him take her... Just so he could start courting her properly.
Leena looked at him a moment more, her golden curls bobbing around her face as she gently rocked in place as she thought. Green eyes tried to burn a hole in him as she contemplated. Finally, she let out a sigh, looked down at the ground and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Fine, fine!" She relented, but quickly stepped in front of him as he turned to open Mari's door,
"But, don't you ever come into this compound again without acknowledging me again; also, get out of here for now. You look like you are about to pop, and I don't want you scaring her. We just got her, Caelid. Go home, shower, chill out, and I will call you when I send her over." She cut him off with a dark look as he opened his mouth to protest.
"Upbupbup, you might be an Alpha to all your buddies, but here I am Leader, and what I say, goes." Her voice was less friendly now as he frowned, his eyes glazing over yellow as his wolf whined in his head.
Biting the inside of his cheek, Caelid only nodded before turning towards the way he came in, metaphorical tail tucked as he growled a half hearted 'thank you' to Leena. Behind him he could hear the Witch murmur something about 'horny damned dogs' before he closed the front door behind him. Now back on the front lawn of debauchery, his skin itched twice as much when the women touched him. Resisting the urge to bare his teeth and scare them away, he quickly made hs way back to the SUV that was waiting for him. Hopping in on the right side backseat, he scooted in next to his Beta.
Charlie looked over to him as he closed the door, her silver eyes dancing over his body, not in a s****l way, but just making sure he was fine. "What took you so long, boss? I thought I was going to have to call Coop and come save you from an orgy." She snickered a little until his death glare shut her up and had her putting her hands up in a push away motion. "Alright, no orgy jokes. What did take you so long though?" She was now leaning her head against an upraised hand, that hand making her stick-straight pale blonde hair bunch up around her face on one side, making her look more innocent than she was.
"I found her Charlie... and she is a damned Witch."
The silence after Caelid spoke was thunderous, his Beta trying to conjure words that made sense for this moment. After a moment, she awkwardly cleared her throat. "Our future Luna is a Witch?" She asked it delicately, knowing anything she might say would potentially set him off, and set him off it did.
Yellow wolf eyes swiveled to scowl at her, making his Beta visibly shrink back and look away, her shoulders rounding in on themselves. "I mean no disrespect, my Alpha..." It was said quietly, she was doing her best to defuse the situation before Caelid lost his cool.
Giving his head a shake, he sighed before putting a hand on her shoulder. "I'm... I'm sorry. I just don't know what to do with all of these emotions swirling through me right now. I know you weren't trying to be a shithead, Charlie." He rubbed a hand over his face, scrubbing over his stubbled jaw.
"Just her smell has me acting like a f*****g animal." Just the mention of her scent had him hard again, and him wincing as he crossed his legs to hide it as best he could.
Charlie uncurled from herself as he apologized, her golden retreiver energy refilling her.
"It's alright boss. I know how it is, I was the same way when I met Jemma and I could't just pick her up and drag her home with me." Jemma was Charlie's mate, she had been the Gamma of a different pack Charlie was visiting for training. No one had expected Charlie to come home going on and on about some woman from another pack, but she did, and Caelid had done all the mountains of paperwork to transfer Jemma here, and by Reika's tit, it had been a mountain.
Pushing out a breath, Caelid ruffled his Beta's hair, a soft chuckle rolling through his barrel of a chest. "Well, now I finlly know how you felt, and you get to return the favor after all that paperwork I did for you... Help me win her over, Charlie, we both know she is going to fight like hell. All none wolf mates do."
It was Charlie's turn to pat him on the back, a beaming smile over her face. "Don't worry boss, we will convince her, just you see! Besides, how could she say no to this face?" She scrunched her lips up and baby talked at him as she pinched his cheek. "Our Alpha is just so cute, yes he is!" Both of them laughing now, they spoke only about strategies the rest of the way home, and part of the way into the night. It wasn't until Charlie had to go home to Jemma did the talk stop and the thoughts start.
Now laying alone in the dark of his room, he stared up at the ceiling, hands behind his head and feet crossed one over the other. He was silent for a bit, just thinking aout her scent and what her skin would feel like against his. After a while of thinking, he finally shut his eyes, letting sleep drape over his body, but not before he sent out a silent prayer to the Wolf Mother, asking her to help him bring his Witch home. He didn't know his Luna, but he knew he needed her. The last word left his mind before the black inky depths of sleep spilled over him, finally letting him rest.
