Chapter 26
Eric POV
We make it to the vampire grounds and something seems off. I can’t even think straight as the strangest spell hit all our noses at once. What happened here and why couldn’t I place the smell? I know I have smelled it before, but I couldn’t remember where exactly.
The ground was burned beneath our feet, but it seemed like it happened a while ago. Where green grass used to be was rocks and ash. It’s like hell was unleashed or something. We make our way and realize it’s a circle. We were walking in the center of a circle.
“I have a bad feeling,” Migale says in mindspeak, my second in charge on this mission. His brown wolf senses my unease and he and I share a look of concern as the rest of the warriors follow close on our heels.
