Compulsion Cornelius smiled as he kissed the sleeping man on his bed and he stirred a bit before going back to sleep. He shifted the blonde locks of hair that had fallen over his lover's face and kissed his forehead before finally getting up from bed. He quickly got into his clothes and no sooner had he done that, than a knock came to the door. He ordered the person to come in and a maid came into the room. Her eyes widened at what she saw on the bed and she blushed furiously, trying to keep her eyes down. "Uh... Uh.... Your Highness, his Majesty demands your immediate audience." She reported, her cheeks a slight shade of pink. Cornelius turned back and saw that his lover had awoken, probably from the knock on the door and was sitting up on the bed,his bare chest in view to the prying eyes of this maid. "Tell my father that I'm busy right now." He dismissed, expecting the maid to leave instantly but turned back to glare at her when she didn't. "I'm sorry your Highness but I can't do that, your father gave strict orders to have you in his presence this instant,no matter what you were doing. He says he has something very urgent to discuss." The maid explained and he sighed in defeat. He hated it when he got disturbed when he was enjoying his time with his lover. "Well this better be good." He growled, turning back to the man that still sat on the bed, covered only by a blanket that gathered at his waist. "I'll be back in a jiffy Ben,I just need to have an audience with my father." Cornelius revealed sweetly. "There's no need to worry about me,I'll be fine. I promise I won't go anywhere, you need to go to the Alpha now lest he becomes angry." Ben permitted and Cornelius nodded before following the maid and closing the door behind him. He walked to the throne room where his father sat discussing with Daniel, the pack's newly elected Beta. "Father, you called." He said, sounding uninterested. His eyes instead focused on Daniel and a smirk appeared on his lips, this Beta certainly looked good enough to f**k. "Daniel, you're dismissed. We'll continue this discussion some other time."Alpha Aiden said and Daniel bowed and left. " Cornelius, I called you because I have something very important to discuss with you."Alpha Aiden began. "Father please be quick with it,I have to get back to something." Cornelius urged, not in anyway ready for any boring political stuff his father had to say. "I'm going to tell you a story and I want you to listen very carefully to it,because it deeply concerns you. Long ago,two boys whose people were enemies met and became very good friends. One of them was a vampire and the other was a werewolf. The vampire had selflessly helped the werewolf though they were supposed to be enemies and that had sprouted a friendship between them. They couldn't openly display or acknowledge their friendship because it was forbidden and they lived separately and grew up,each becoming the leader of his own kingdom." Alpha Aiden began narrating. "Father, I really don't see the point of this. I'm not a child anymore so I don't need bedtime stories." Cornelius complained. "You're getting quite nonchalant these days but I won't address that right now, time tends to teach lessons and help us mend our ways better than human effort. Anyway, they wanted to end the hundred year feud between werewolves and vampires so they met up and came up with a plan, aren't you curious to know how it went?" Alpha Aiden asked, knowing that this conversation would go down south soon enough. "What happened? If they tried to end the war then that means their plan didn't work because we're still at war with those nasty bloodsuckers." Cornelius said. "Well,it'll interest you to know that I'm the werewolf in the story and King Darius is the vampire. We've secretly been friends for many years and have been trying to end the war and we've finally succeeded,we've even signed a peace treaty so the war officially comes to an end today and I'm making a royal decree that from this day henceforth, we shall treat the vampires as allies, family even and any werewolf that kills a vampire shall suffer the worst of punishments." Alpha Aiden revealed and Cornelius threw him a questioning look. "When did all this happen? Why wasn't I informed of any of it? Besides, what makes you think we can trust those deceitful leeches? They're our enemies and we should only hate them, not try to make peace with them. What guarantee do we have that they won't go back on their words, that they won't attack and conquer us when we least expect it?" Cornelius asked, angered by the whole idea. "Apparently, you've been too busy with your own personal activities to keep to date with anything going on in the pack when sadly, you're supposed to be the first person to hear information from me. And to answer the question of trust, we've thought of that and the vampire king seems to be very eager to end the fight, so eager that he'd give away the most precious thing to him, he's willing to form an alliance with us." Alpha Aiden, said not quite getting to the point. "Father please stop beating about the bush and go straight to the point, what alliance are they willing to form and what assurance does he provide us with?" Cornelius questioned, rather impatiently. "Cornelius, you're going to be getting married to Princess Ramona in two weeks, the marriage is part of the peace treaty and must be done." Alpha Aiden revealed and Cornelius couldn't hide his surprise. "What?! That's not possible, it's never happening. I'm never getting married to that bloodsucking demoness or any of the vampires. Not in a million years, I don't care whatever agreement you made with the vampire king, that remains your business alone. I refuse to get married to Princess Ramona and that's final." Prince Cornelius said aggressively. "And I'm not giving you an option, you have no choice in this because it's an order. Cornelius I've never stopped you from doing anything before, even when you chose to shame me by involving yourself with men. It's time to fulfill your royal duty as a Prince and the next Alpha of this pack, you're marrying Princess Ramona whether you like it or not and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it." Alpha Aiden spoke, his tone stern. "I can't marry her even if I wanted to, not only is she an enemy, you know fully well that I'm not attracted to girls so how will the marriage work? You'll just be ruining her life by getting her married to me." Cornelius tried to convince his father, knowing that his father had the ability to get him married to anyone, even if he did not approve of the person. "It's high time you finally came off that little lie of yours, you'll have to learn to adapt to being married to a woman and that's the end of it. Princess Ramona is a very attractive woman and I'm sure you'll learn to love her in time." Alpha Aiden said with a note of finality. "I've tried my best to reason with you but you've refused to see reason so I've had enough. I'm not marrying Princess Ramona and you can't make me." Prince Cornelius said and turned to storm off angrily but the Alpha's words stopped him in his tracks. "You're going to consent to the marriage with Princess Ramona and you're going to marry her willingly in front of everyone and until then, Ben and Mara will remain locked up." As soon as the words filtered into his ears, Cornelius growled, knowing that he would have no choice but to marry Ramona, he had been defeated. Ben and Mara were two people that were very important to him. Ben was his new found lover and though he couldn't say that he loved the guy yet, he could genuinely say that he cared about him very much and Mara, Mara was the only women on earth that he loved very much. She had been his caretaker all of his life, taking care of him from birth because his mother had died while giving birth to him. She had fed him with her own milk (she had become pregnant at the same time with the Luna then, but she had a premature birth and her baby turned out to be stillborn.),she had treated and taken care of him like her own child and she had been very supportive too when he revealed that he didn't like girls, even when his father had been enraged and punished him, she had been his only source of consolation and had assured him that everything would be OK in the end. He loved Mara to pieces, she was his whole life and he would never let anything happen to her while he was still alive. If not for anything else, he had to agree to his father's demands for Mara's sake. "You win this time dad, I'll marry Princess Ramona as you wish but just keep in mind that you'll regret this. You'll regret all of this and that's a promise." He said in defeat and stormed off, tears forming at the edge of his eyes.
