Chapter 49
I am in the middle of a meeting when my phone rings. Hindi ko ito pinansin dahil I don’t normally answer calls kapag nasa meeting ako whatsoever. Nang muli itong nag-ring ay napilitan akong mag-excuse when I saw my dad’s name at the screen. My dad seldom calls me, mas madalas ay si mommy ang tumatawag sa akin. So when my dad calls, I know it is important. Paglabas ko ng conference room ay agad kong sinagot ang tawag.
“Dad.”
“Come home quickly Christian!” nagtataka ako sa urgency ng boses niya. This is not his usual sound, this is not how he normally speaks.
“Why?”
“It’s your Mom, Christian.” Then his voice suddenly becomes shaky kaya mas lalo akong nagulat at the same time ay kinabahan.
“What about Mom? Is she alright?” hindi ko maintindihan ang kaba na nararamdaman ko.
