Treated Like a Beast

- * “Where's Leo?” asks Mila. The worry is visible on her face as she lies there unable to move. Caressing Mila's forehead, Danae smiles and says, “He's fine.” “No… where is he?” “He's being taken care of by Lord Santos. You don't have to worry about him. Just rest.” “He's been locked away, isn't he?” she asks. Danae took a second longer to respond, “No, they-” “Stop it, Danae. I always know that you're a bad liar.” Sighing, Danae confesses, “He's been put in a cell far from here. I tried to convince the House Leaders but in terms of ‘Legal Matters,’ he is in the wrong. He dealt damage and they couldn't let it slip.” “No…,” sobs Mila. “He's gonna be fine. They can't touch him unless I say so. And… you've made quite a bond with him, haven't you?” “He's part of our House now. It's deserving that I care about him and… wait… what about Darius?” “He's back walking on his feet after I healed him. Such an able-bodied boy.” “What about the others? Did we lost anyone?” “Fortunately, none.” Grunting, Mila tries to sit up but Danae stops her. She pushes her back down. “Let me go…,” says Mila, having not enough strength to even exert her anger. “You must rest. I may have healed you but you need to rest to fully heal.” “He just got out… now he's going back in, alone. And it's not even his fault!” “I understand but if you're in the right mind right now, you would wait until we can do something about it. So, right now, all you can do is rest.” “Don't let them touch him, Danae,” she sobs. “He lost his parents, friends, and sister. Now, we are treating him like he's a beast that needs to be locked alone inside a cell. This won't help him! This will make things much harder for him to endure. And the last thing I ever did to him is lying. He has lost his trust in me!” She begins to whimper. “No, he still trusts you. He knows that you're only doing it for him.” “You're just trying to make me feel better.” “You never got a chance to talk to him, haven't you?” Once again, Danae goes pausing for a moment then speaks, “Even so-” “I knew it,” sobs Mila. “He's still unconscious. I have to make up for what I did. It was all my fault thinking that lying that I know his sister is alive would help him. I didn't know he can read minds.” “Then he must know your pure reason. You're trying to help him and I know he'll be glad.” “I don't know about that,” she says looking to the side away from Danae. She wants to hide her shameful face. “Leonide is a good boy. He knows he will do the same thing to somebody else if he was put in your situation.” “He will try to help them but unlike how I lied to him. I can never be like him. I'm a goddess and yet he's better than me.” “That's the same how I felt with Enzo too.” Danae bites her lower lip as she tries to stop herself from getting flustered. “Why bring that up now?” “I'm just saying that somehow, he and Enzo have similarities. Both of them are strong men but comes with the price of sometimes getting out of control. Right now, Leo is going through the same thing Enzo went through. But don't worry, he can do it as long as we are here to help him.” “But what if we're not enough for him?” “You're not alone, Mila. All of us are ready to help him. I heard about how he helped Olympus and saved millions of our people. I'm ready to fight for him for that. We can't condemn our heroes just that they made a single mistake.” “If only everyone believes that, everything will be fine.” “Even if not, it's still fine. Good always prevails.” “We haven't talked like this before,” Mila mentions. “Yes, we haven't and I'm glad that we finally have. I'm sorry I didn't spend enough time with both of you. I feel guilty that what is happening now is the only thing that made me do so.” “Well, it's partly my fault. I hated you and Father. When the explosions happened, I realized I'm too weak and started to wish both of you are here for us.” With both of her hands, Danae holds Mila's hand, clasping it carefully to make her feel her affection. “I love you, my little sister.” “Me... t... too,” says Mila hesitantly. Somewhere in the remains of Olympus Capital, the Masked League quit hiding in the shadows and set up their base. They are enjoying the last remaining plunder they have before they expire. In the buildings, they sing and drink. Even some of the women joined their party. No rules to limit their enjoyment, so they do anything they want down to the deepest darkest part of their hearts. Not all women joined them willingly, most of them are forced. The drugs are free for them to take and t*****e is a norm. They treat the people they capture as slaves and animals which exist to entertain them. It is a hell above the ground. Then a faint glow of yellow light appears above the street. From it, is a man with a grey battle suit. He throws a sword. It pierces through the glass pane. As soon as it did, he appears inside. All of them are too late to be aware of what is happening. The man finishes them all one slice each. It all happened in a single second. All that is left are the men and women who have been captured as slaves. “Our prayers have been answered!” cries one of them. Opening the front part of his helmet like mechanically transforming, Enzo shows his calm face at them. “All of you, wait here,” he says before closing it again. He jumps off the high floor of the building. Aiko appears beside him. “Where?” she asks in midair. “There,” he points at the bottom of the building where he senses more people. “Okay!” She holds his shoulder and they teleport inside the parking basement. What they witness is hundreds of humans forced to pray for a deity. Demigods and other humans of the Masked League are watching them. Aiko teleports them all in front of Enzo. He punches them once and they all die. A dozen demigods are the only ones that are left. With rapid teleportation, she helps him reach all of them before they take anyone hostage. But Enzo is a fraction of a second late to stop one of them from pressing a trigger. The pillars explode before Enzo kills him. A few humans got caught up in it. “Get them out of here, now,” he says to Aiko. “and bring me back to that floor again.” She nods and all of them disappear. The basement gets buried. Slowly, the building tilts. Enzo appears on the floor he entered earlier. The captives are screaming in fear. “All of you jump through there!” he points at the broken window he entered earlier. “Are you crazy?!” screams the man in front of him. Enzo grabs him and throws him there. He is quickly grabbing the rest of the women one by one and throwing them after the man. The men jump for themselves. They scream seeing the shadow of the building at the street they are going to fall onto. Raising his eyebrows, Enzo is confused why Aiko is not teleporting them. The humans will die at this point. “My bad,” he realizes. “WHAT?!!” screams a maiden beside him. Opening the part of the helmet that covers his face, he carries her in his arms and she is flustered instantly. His face is too close to her as he closes his eyes to concentrate. As if the thought of dying disappears from her mind. Her chest feels like it could explode, having this handsome man carrying her like a bride. The next thing that happens is that he multiplies, each of him is carrying the others. They land without anyone dying. The maiden's perception of time slows down, looking at him with the building coming to crush them all behind him. “If this is how I die,” she thinks. “I will have one last kiss with this handsome god carrying me in his arms.” She closes and pockets her lips, drawing her face close to him. Enzo looks up at the falling building and drops her to the ground. “Argh!” she cries in surprise. Her butt hits the ground very hard. His clones disappear after that. He readies his right fist then, “Fist of Five,” he says, punching the air. The building gets blown up back into the sky. The ground shakes around him, absorbing the recoil of his punch. There is no more building falling onto them. However, it is not over since some of the debris is going to fall onto them. It only takes a wave of his hand to blow them all away in a different direction. He sighs, knowing he can ease up a little now. The maiden stands up and says, “I love you,” at him. “Huh?” he asks. The others did not hear her because they are trembling for the moment. “I said-” Aiko appears beside them. She is panting, saying, “I'm sorry Enzo, I miscalculated my stamina.” “Well, it's my fault doing it without considering.” The maiden looks at both of them and asks, “Are you two have… a relationship, my lady?” He walks away to check others but Aiko blurts out, “What?!! No!!” She is so flustered, red like a ripe tomato. Later, she walks away too, handing each of them their masks using her small golden bag. It is her relic that can store infinite things. After that, aircrafts closed into their location to transport the rescued. The maiden looks at Enzo one more time before he and Aiko disappear into thin air. How bad she wishes she could be with a man like him. On top of a water tower, Enzo and Aiko rest for a while. Aiko is tired after teleporting that many people. She sits on the ground while he looks around watching out for the presence of enemies. “Rest as long as you can, my lady,” he says. “I can wait for as long as you'd like.” “Thank you,” she sighs. “I'm sorry about what that girl said earlier.” “Oh, that?” he asks not turning to look at her. “It's not a big deal.” “Oh, yeah,” she nods, obviously changing her tone to imply as if she thinks of it the same way he does. “not a big deal. I thought you'd think weird about it.” “I'd never. After all, this happened many times, remember?” “Oh… right,” she says, remembering everything. “Like when we worked together.” “Yeah, those good old times.” “Good times…,” she mutters thinking about how worse today is than that time. She stands up and says, “Alright, shall we go?” He turns and nods. They leave. Back in the building where the survivors of Asgard are staying, Juliet is walking in the passages. In the left and right walls, people are leaning their backs against the walls, trying to rest. She is shocked about what she is witnessing just as she came back recently. A boy just appears turning into the corner and is now heading towards her. She does not know who he is yet but he looks disturbingly calm and smirks at her. Not minding him, she passes by and felt strange. She turns around to look at him. Before turning to the left and pass through the corner, she had a glimpse of his eyes glowing green. “Jasper?” she mutters. * -
