“I can’t believe we’re doing this,” Durran muttered as they crept through the streets of an unfamiliar town.
Clara had gotten word that there was a family suspected of being Wyvern earlier in the day. It had come from idle gossip from one of the women in town whose family worked making bows. Apparently, it had come out that their whole family was Casteless while she had been taking an order for a neighbour, and now the rumour was spreading that they were Wyvern.
Now, they were in that very town, searching for the house where they lived. She didn’t know how Tahlia did any of this. How she figured out where they lived and who they were. She felt useless as they walked through the streets, completely out of her element to figure any of it out.
