CLARA It took them all night to fly to the safe house Tahlia had set up for the Wyvern. Durran had managed to outrun the Drakesworn, and they could only hope they didn’t get a good look at him before he did. The flight had been silent, as the family had mourned their home and the lives they’d had up until then. The eldest daughter had ridden on the back of her fiancé, leaving the rest to be carried by Durran. He was strong, though, and he managed it without complaint. By the time they dropped the family off and headed home, the sun was peaking over the sky, and when Durran changed back to his human form, he dropped to the ground in exhaustion.
