Chapter Five The King, as was his wont, left his concubines behind, taking with him only a few male slaves. While it was said that certain eastern tribes allowed whores to accompany their armies, Rahn considered women on the war front to be a distraction. He insisted that females be kept far away from combat. He also considered this to be a wise precaution, since he was fiercely protective, and for him, it was point of manly honor that not one of his women should ever be ravished at the hands of his enemies.
