Chapter Nine Those few months spent in pleasant dalliance with the charming girls at court were among my happiest days I ever spent in service of King Rahn. They were over all too soon with the return of the King, who arrived that Fall with his latest prize in tow. I well remember the day that I first laid eyes on the caged beauty, who would one day become our Queen. Rahn rode in triumph through the gates, serene and imperturbable, accepting as no more than his due, the thunderous applause of the assembled multitudes.
