~• HELL NO •~

After that dreadful announcement, some of my classmates had paled and tensed visibly at the prospect of playing against the soccer team. Once we were in place, the second coach blew his whistle, Renz kicked the ball. The players, of course, were our opponents while the rest of us will try to get past them and score a goal. Really coach? I think he's just separating his precious players from worthless and useless simpletons like us. It's like we're the prey and they are the predators. It's like he's feeding us to them. I remained in my spot, hands resting on my knees and my eyes on Renz who was kicking and running through the field. He managed to dodge two players and ran over to the other side. I glanced at the direction he's heading to and silently cursed to find it was Diggs who was defending that very side. Diggs is a tall guy, not overly muscular, more like a lean meat but he's hella strong. I eyed Renz worriedly, apprehension gripping my stomach but I'm too far from him if I should ever decide to lead him away. Everything went down faster in a blink of an eye because the next thing I knew, Renz was lying on the grass, curled into a ball clutching his right leg all the while groaning loudly in pain. All the players- including the crowd on the bleachers that had gathered as soon as they saw a mock-game going on -eeupted into bouts of laughter while Diggs smirked in ugly satisfaction. My blood boiled at the sight that no one bothered to help him, everyone else laughed and the rest of my classmates were practically frozen in fear and shaking terribly by the benches. Then coach blew his whistle, head shaking in disappointment. Several football players- that arrived somewhere around our exercise -were busy warming up for their practice before they witnessed all the events that had occured the past eight minutes into our game and were now openly glaring at the soccer team. Some, I noticed, seemed as if they wanted to step in but their own coach sighed and shook his head at them, obviously, he's telling them that this isn't their business. And that, not only made my eye twitch in annoyance, but also made the heat boiling in my blood erupt like a f*cking volcano.  'This shouldn't be allowed. I understand that they want us to stand up for ourselves but this is just unacceptable.' Renz was carried off towards the bench by one of his friends, who forced themselves out of their frozen state, two more rushed to get water and soon, an ice pack was placed on Renz' knee that was rapidly swelling and turning into a dark shade of purple. His friends sent menacing glares towards Diggs who dutifully ignored them. I eyed Diggs who was currently receiving fist bumps behind his back. My hands clenched on their own accord and I forced myself to take a deep breath before returning to my previous position. This time, it was Cole who had the ball. My eyebrows probably reached my hairline, impressed at the sight that he managed to brush pass George, one of the fastest players, and continued on with cheers from our classmates from behind him slowly increasing their volume but that faded into shouts of exclamations and horror when the ball was snatched away and he was tripped. I watched in horror as Cole skidded on the grass then rolled over twice. And when I turned to find the one responsible, the volcano inside me morphed into a flaming tornado. I was filled with nothing but pure, unadulterated anger when it was none other than Leo. F*cking. Jay. Seagan. Amusement dancing in his eyes as he grinned at Cole whining in pain, both hands clutching onto his knees. And when I looked down, his knees were bleeding badly. Another round of laughter burst out from the crowd. "Seriously. You boys are weak!" My head whirled towards Coach so fast, I was surprised it stayed intact but it was too bad Coach failed to see me glaring at him. Jaw clenched tightly, I glanced at the rest of my classmates to see fear in their eyes, dreading the humiliation they would be experiencing once they are called for their turn. One even looked as if he was about to pee and one was close to fainting. I hid the visible trembling of my hands and stood up, hands curled into tught fists as I strode across the field. The sun hitting the side of my face and I could feel eyes on me as my classmates noticed me approaching their bench. Laughter instantly died down and even without looking, I could feel their confusion along with the players but my gaze remained on Cole. And in my peripheral vision, I took note of Leo's confused frown and the football team had stopped completely on whatever they were doing and watched me curiously and in the same time, anticipation. As I neared Cole, he looked up. His soft brown locks brushing against his wide baby blue eyes that glazed as he looked at me. Obviously, he waa trying to stop the tears from appearing. Wordlessly, I slipped my arms under his knees and around his back, him yelping amd squeaking in surprise but he quickly wrapped his arms around my neck as I carried him towards the bench. A collective gasp sounded throughout the field, some murmured lowly while the players stared at me, eyes wide. Cole was looking at me but I kept my gaze straight ahead. One of Renz' friends stood up from the bench and rushed to get some bandages while I slowly and gently set Cole down who gazed cutely at me questioningly but I stared blankly as Sarah returned and began to wrap Cole's knees. With a last glance on his bleeding knees, I turned and strode towards Coach who was holding the ball. I snatched the ball from his nerveless fingers quite abruptly but I can't find myself to care as I stared down at him as if he was nothing but a mere worm. I was pleased to see him flinching and eyes rapidly blinking aa he slowly backed away. Next, I turned to my classmates and somehow, they understood the message I was telling them as they scurried back off to the sides and sat down. Finally, I turned towards the players who were still staring at me. I dropped the ball and placed my foot on top to keep it in its place. I waited and when they saw that I wasn't doing anything else, they exchanged glances, unsure and slightly apprehensive but they slowly settled into their positions, Leo slowly copied them. When I made a quick and quite complex trick with the ball, weary expressions instantly adorned their faces. I c****d a brow at coach, showing my impatience and he fumbled and dropped his whistle, much to my private glee, before shakily blew the whistle. I rolled my eyes at him and turned just in time to see two players charging at me but I kicked the ball through their parted legs and side stepped them both, causing them to crash into each other and I sneakily stretched my leg out and watched as they tripped over the limb and crashed down in a tangle of limbs. Laughter erupted from the benches and bleachers, as well as from the other side of the field, at the sight of their tangled legs and lips connected. They shoved each other away, mortified, and vigorously wiped at their lips, spitting out profanities and shuddering all the while. The sound of laughter increased their volume as I turned in time to spin to my left, dodging another player qhile carrying the ball between my feet. He skidded to a stop as I ran across the field, kicking the ball. This spurred the entire team into action and cheers erupted from the crowd. I felt him right beside me and as he stretched a leg out to snatch the ball, I stopped, hooking the ball with the heel of my foot and watched as he ended up in a perfect split that caused him to moan in pain. I heard the telltale sounds of fabric ripping and glanced down at his short to find the material tattered open but in full display was his heart shaped boxers that turned the crowd's laughter into cackles. Satisfied, I broke off into a run. 'That's for Renz assh*le.' When I ran past the benches, I looked at Renz and regarded him with a curt nod. He grinned widely while everyone else cheered. Diggs came barreling towards me with the clear intentions to ram me down but I scooped the ball up with my foot and kicked it upwards and the ball soared over Diggs. 'Hell no.' While his eyes followed the ball, he gave me an opening which was his mistake. He looked back at me just in time to see me running towards him and I dropped to my knees, leaned back as my head brushed against the grass and slid under and through his parted legs. As soon as I got back on ny feet, I delivered a sharp kick on his back and he wemt flying forward. Coach did mention that there are no rules. I can only guess Coach thought this rule would apply only on us but not on his players.  Diggs yelled out as I caught the ball with my knee then held it under my foot. When I looked at him, I found him clutching his knees and it was bleeding with long gashes before he looked at me. I sent him a venomous glare before turning around and resumed the game. Everyone cheered as I basically throttled all the players and avenged my fellow classmates they had humiliated. But when I neared the net, Leo appeared and blocked me. I stopped and pushed the ball behind me. Leo glared at me and I returned it with as much intensity as he did. Then his eyes narrowed and I noticed him eyeing my feet. I smirked and charged forward, pretending to kick the ball to the right and spin to my left byt as he went to block me, I did a quick spin and kicked at his ribs. He fell to the ground with a harsh thud, screaming in both pain and surprise. I ran after the ball and eyed the goalie whose eyes were wide, sweat beading his brow but he remained in his position. I kicked the ball upwards with my right foot, and with a butterfly twist, a technique I secretly mastered over the years, my left leg flying across the air and slammed into the ball. He tried to block it but it swerved to the right, his fingers brushing against it and it went right into the net. Loud claps and cheers echoed around me and I turned see all the players, that were still sprawled on the ground stared at me in shock and disbelief, including coach whose whistle slowly slipped out from his parted mouth. I approaed Diggs then slowly crouched down at his level, his eyes wide as I glanced over his shoulder towards Coach, ensuring that he got my message. I noticed the sudden silence, everyone must be watching, biting their lips and nails in anticipation. I clamped a hand on Digg's shoulder at which he flinched at. If we were to stand beside each other, I would be looking right Digg's eyebrows. I tilted my head as I held his gaze then dug my nails in his shoulder eliciting a grunt from the man. With a tiny smirk directed at him, I snapped my wrist- pulling at his shoulder hard then pushed it backwards -an unmanly scream ripped out of his mouth, echoing throughout the field along with loud gasps from the present crowd  then silence. I pulled my hand back and stood up as he whined and gasped in pain, clutching his shoulder. I stood up, glanced at the players, the crowd, the football team and at coach who actually avoided my gaze and suddenly found the grass interesting. I sighed and made my way towards the bench where Cole and Renz were still sitting down. Renze seemed to be better now and could walk. My classmates smiled at me, even Cole. I could recognize the silent gratitude each were telling me. Cole is unable to stand since his knees were sliced open so again, without a word, I carried him in my arms. I turned and walked across the field, back to the school with Renz. Aside from the soccer team, who has yet to pick themselves up from the ground, everyone else took Coach's silence as their cue to return to the gym to change and prepare for the next class. Renz' friends walked with me.  I didn't mind the hand on my arm because Renz needed support. His friends stayed behind him just in case he falls but as soon as we arrived into a hallway, he told them to go along and head to class without him while he goes to the clinic with me. Even though they protested, Renz insisted that they go, and they did so reluctantly. A companionable silence stretched over us, I sensed Cole's gaze at the side of my head so I turned to him and watched in fascination as his cheeks turned into a lovely shade of red that reached all the way up to his ear before he hastily looked away. Upon arriving at the clinic, Marnie, our school nurse, pretty but she'll rip out your vocal cords if you so ever much as touch her or disrespect her, looked up from her desk with a smile but it quickly vanished as soon as a limping Renz stepped into the room and saw Cole, whose knees were still bleeding but not as bad as before. "What in the sons of the Pharaoh happened?!" She asked as she rushed to help Renz and settle him on a bed. Renz took the liberty to explain everything while Marnie rushed around to fetch the things needed. I settled Cole down on a bed right next to Renz. Marnie placed a bowl of water with a towel beside me then whooshed back over to Renz to tend to his swollen leg. I sat down and  gently removed the blood soaked bandages. I took two pillows from another bed and placed it under his legs as a support, while doing so, he emitted a small whimper and unconsciously, I stroked his leg with my thumb for comfort.  I soaked the towel and wrung the excess water out and carefully washed his wounds. After making sure that I had washed all the dirt and dried blood off, I placed the towel back onto the tray just as Marnie appeared beside, a small tray of medicine, needle and bandages. "Here, I'll do the rest. Thank you Chris. I'll give you a slip so you can go back to class, the bell already rang." I nodded and stood up, Marnie already writing down the slip and glanced at Cole who immediately looked down, blushing cutely. I turned to Renz who regarded me with a nod and a thanks.  "Thanks Chris."  "Yes. Thank you Chris." Cole said it above a whisper but I still heard it. Marnie handed me the slip as I looked at Cole who was looking at me through his eyelashes. Our nurse patted me on the arm as farewell. I made my way back to the gym's locker room, relieved to find it empty and headed towards the showers. After that, I made quick work of my pants and shirt then proceeded to walk down the hallways towards my class, which is Chemistry and the slip in my hand. I knocked twice then pushed the door open. Sir Ron turned to glare at who dared to disrupt his class but his gaze softened as soon as he realized it was me. I handed him the slip and waited as he read ut then smiled at me. All of the teachers, except the Soccer team's coach, treat me remarkably well. I took my seat, took out my book and began to copy the lecture on the board. And as the day goes by, I noticed that no one threw insults at me nor tried to make fun of me during class. I didn't even receive glares. I could still feel their stares though, but I didn't bother turning to decipher what kind of emotions those stares held. But this also means that someone had blurted out about what had occured during P.E., and one thing you should know about this school, news travel really fast, faster than on social media. I sighed and just resorted to patiently wait until the lunch bell rang so I could eat. I'm starving.
