Camilla and I pass through the doorway and into a large chamber. This time, it’s as if we’ve stepped inside another crystal pyramid—all the walls and floor glow with white light. Other than that, the chamber appears to be empty, with one exception.

He stands eight feet tall with the body of a man and the head of an ibis bird. He holds a tablet in his hands. The device reminds me of the one Camilla uses, only Thoth’s version is made from white crystal.
The god looks up as we enter. “Camilla! Xavier! So nice of you to visit. I just have a few questions for you.” Despite having such a long and curved beak, he speaks clearly.
“Questions?” I frown. “About what, exactly?”
