The meeting

Alex's POV It's been 6 months since I left the royal pack to my parents with the excuse of finding my mate but in actual truth, I just needed a breather. And to some extent, I think my parents already knew but they turned a blind eye to it hoping that I would actually find my mate during this time of self healing. I've been wondering the continent with no destination in mind. I stumbled upon a beautiful log cabin with floor to ceiling windows, the area around it was quiet, a little too quiet. I could hear slivers of whispers near me but no actual people or shifters in view to help me locate them. I entered a beautiful open field with flowers littered everywhere and a pathway that led to the log cabin. "Excuse me, why have you trespassed upon our land? Are you looking for a home, are you lost?" A man with long sliver hair with the sharpest blue eyes stepped forward and you could practically feel the cold air surrounding him. He was definitely a dragon of sorts. I tilted my head to the side and racked my head trying to get an idea of a pack in this area. I don't believe there was one registered in the kingdom, or perhaps they were registered in the special refugee packs. "I am here to rest and heal." I replied, it was somewhat of the truth although the real reason was to escape from my duties and responsibilities for a little while. "If you wish to stay the night here, please follow me, if not, please leave our lands. Our people do not react well to new people." The man's replied. Did they not know who I was? I opened my mouth when a chorus of welcome and cheering sounded from behind me. I turned around and saw Olivia, a childhood friend and fiancee if I couldn't find my mate by 35. The girl beside her was petite but long sliver hair and weary complexion and I noticed that expression was due to my presence. She raised an eyebrow and looked past me to the man behind me. "Eliza, this man stumbled upon our lands and is asking for refuge." I opened my mouth to refute his claims, I wasn't trying to do anything. I literally found myself here without realizing it. "Find him a room to stay in and register him in as a temporary guest, he should be leaving to go wherever he came from in about 2 years time." The sliver hair girl spoke and continued walking but stopped when Olivia gasped and exclaimed. "Alex? what are doing here? Finally got kicked for your wolfish behavior?" "Olivia." I rolled my eyes at her. "You know this gentleman?" The silver haired man frowned. "He is no gentleman, Sawyer." She held her stomach as she was consumed with laughter. My grim expression turned darker and I wanted to nothing but strangle her at this point. "Olivia, be nice. Sawyer, take our guest up to my office and register him for now, if he wishes to join in our activities, give him full access to our facilities. Except the attic." The girl named Eliza said as she continued walking. Olivia ran up to her as I was temporarily forgotten by both ladies but as the wind blew, the silver hair blew away, revealing a faint red tint on the girl's face. I followed after Sawyer and entered a room with a single large oak desk in the center, and one computer screen, one chair behind the desk and two chairs at the front. And that was all. The only thing to make up for the lack of furniture or decorations was the full on view of the training grounds and nature shown by the floor to ceiling windows. It brightened the room and the wooden log walls actually gave the room a clean and cozy feeling. There was a painting hooked to the wall and it looked to painted by a person who lived here. "Feeling free to look around." Sawyer said and I walked up to the window and stared down at the huge obstacle course that the occupants were running. There were a couple spectators as well. "These are outcasts, when a family or individual gets casts out, the ward activates and brings the person here to start a new life. The only rules here are: no fighting, talk it out and if there has to be a fight, its a formal request to the Alpha or Beta. And to train. Everyone from the age of 5 learns how to train and there's different trainers for different age groups. The ward also attract those that are lost or in need of peace. The ward will eventually kick them out when it feels you are ready to return to your every day life, even if you don't feel like leaving. You must." "There's so little rules, How is it so peaceful." I couldn't help voicing out. "We are fickle creatures, when we are told no or restricted to do something, we want to do it more, hence the rule breakers. We had many people here learn the hard way that if you don't follow the implied rules, you will be harshly punished. Now, no one causes trouble, its usually the new people entering, that think they can overthrow our leadership and rule over these people by themselves." Sawyer looks down at me and raises an eyebrow. "I come in peace." I raised my hands in the air as a sign of peace. "Good." A familiar female voice sounds behind me. The girl named Eliza stands there with her hair tied in a higg ponytail. "Give me a list of rule breakers in the last couple months and send them to the training grounds. Don't even try hiding them from me, asking for their names is a courtesy I am giving you as the defacto leader." "I wouldn't dare lie to you, sister." Sawyer chuckled as he handed her a piece of paper and his eyes clouded. probably gathering the individuals. I saw her stare at me. And I stared back and with a lazy smile and it caused a small blush to form before she looked away. Sawyer looked between me and his supposed sister. "But you don't usually carry out the punishment yourself, you usually get my Twin sister to do it, well my other twin sister." "Other twin sister?" I couldn't contain my curiosity. "I'm the second born, Sawyer Yamatsuki. She's the youngest, Elizabeth Rose Yamatsuki. And our eldest sister, Amelia Yamatsuki." He introduced us in sequence. "Amelia with be conducting the punishment, I'm just passing along the note to her and joining the punishment as an extra punishment."She rolled her eyes as she sauntered out but before she could reach the door, Sawyer called out. "Wait! You can't!" He exclaimed and Elizabeth turned around and began stalking towards him, her eyes blazing. "Why not?" She asked in anger but sighed, "I'm not going exert myself, at most, I want to test these guys. Olivia is always saying I should have a guard or two. I have no idea what you are afraid of. Care to enlighten me?" "Nothing much." Sawyer laughed nervously. "Sure... anyways, I wish to talk to you later so finish the registry and guve our guest a tour." "Oh, sister, by the way, all the rooms are taken, the only room available is the one below yours. If I give him that room, your access might be in and out might be a bit hard." "He's not supposed to have that room but I guess I can make an exception, I've been granted more land from the lycan kingdom. I've made blueprints for the new houses. I will give you layout of who will be moving and who will be staying." "Gotcha." Lycan kingdom? She works closely with my kingdom? Why did I not know this?
