  ELIZA’S POV   I sat at my desk with papers scattered in front of me.   My mind started to spin as I worked through a dozen different plans at once.   The pack’s security was my top priority, but there were so many things at hand—Maya’s attack with the Lycans, political alliances, and the dangers I needed to protect them from.   My eyes scanned the maps on my desk, mentally plotting out every defensive measure, every blind spot that could be used against us.   And then I heard the door open.   I didn’t need to look up to know who it was.   My heart skipped a beat as I felt the strong energy of Alexander fill the room. He had that effect on me, always had.
