Hollowridge Manor looked beautiful from the outside the kind of place that appeared on
postcards, tall stone walls, endless gardens, large windows glowing warmly against the evening
darkness to everyone else it looked like a dream but to Rosalie it looked like a prison the
massive iron gates closed behind her with a metallic clang the sound echoed through her chest,
a maid named Clara led her inside.
"Your room is on the second floor."
"My room?"Clara nodded.
"Mr. Voss prepared everything." Rosalie almost laughed.
Prepared everything as if k********g someone became acceptable once fresh flowers were
placed on the bedside table the room itself was larger than her entire apartment a fireplace, a
balcony, a king-sized bed, a walk-in closet filled with expensive clothes she hated every single
thing especially the clothes because they weren't gifts they were reminders she belonged here
now atleast according to Damien. Hours later she sat alone staring out the window rain fell
softly across the gardens the manor slept or so everyone thought.
Rosalie quietly changed into dark clothes then slipped into the hallway, No guards, no servants.
Perfect.
Her heart pounded as she moved downstairs, One door, one gate, one road.
Freedom, She reached the front entrance turned the handle locked of course, she searched until
she found a side door leading into the gardens. Unlocked. Hope surged through her, she ran
past fountains, past hedges, past statues, the gate appeared ahead almost there.
Almost— a pair of headlights suddenly illuminated the path Rosalie froze a black car rolled
slowly toward her the driver's door opened Damien stepped out wearing a dark coat, looking
entirely unsurprised, For several seconds neither spoke.
Then Damien sighed."You lasted longer than I expected."
Rosalie's stomach dropped.
"You knew."
"I knew the second you arrived." Rage burned through her.
"You set me up."
"You were always going to try."He walked closer, Rain darkened his hair his expression remained
unreadable.
"Most people attempt escape during the first week."
"I'm not most people."
"No."His gaze lingered.
"You certainly aren't."Rosalie hated the way he looked at her, As though she were some puzzle
he couldn't solve.
"Move."Damien didn't.
"Move."Still nothing.
Finally she shoved him Hard it accomplished absolutely nothing. Damien barely shifted looking
at her with a very dark expression,For one brief moment she thought he might punish her.
"Get back inside, Rosalie."
"No." As he had expected his patience finally snapped.
"Enough."The single word carried so much authority that even Rosalie froze.
Damien step closer to her, but she didn’t back down either.
"I'm not staying."
He took another step forward pinching her jaw hard forcing her to look at him directly.
"Rosalie i dont give a damn about how you feel about staying here or not but get this, you are my
property and when I say you're staying it means you are staying."
For the first time that night, fear settled inside, she hated this man even more.
