The sleek black car that had brought her to the mansion earlier in the evening now pulled up to the curb. The driver stepped out and opened the back door, waiting for her. Isaac gently placed his hands on her shoulders, his touch warm and grounding. “I’ve instructed the driver to take you home safely. Get some rest. We’ll talk more tomorrow…okay?” As she nodded, Isaac's hands lingered on her shoulders for a moment before he released her. She felt a pang of disappointment, surprised by how much she had come to rely on his comforting presence. Rebecca’s eyes softened as she looked up at him.
