Chapter 5
Even Owen’s tough as nails Land Rover couldn’t get past the gate into the castle grounds, because of all the snow.
“Just follow the driveway,” he said, as we hauled out the suitcase. “You canna miss it.”
Considering I could get lost turning around too fast I wasn’t so sure about that. But Owen was gone with a cheery wave and couple of blasts on the horn. Great. I took out my phone, wondering if maybe someone from the castle could come down to the gate and meet us.
No signal of course. Gabi checked hers and shook her head.
“It’s okay though,” she said. “Look, you can see where the drive is from those stones.” She pointed at lines of stones, rising above the snow, each with a little white cap of snow. “Also, I can see the lights.”
