Chapter 5

Chapter 5 I woke up in an unfamiliar room. I looked around, and everything was pitch-black: a black bed, black walls, and a black door. Where am I? I heard the door suddenly open. "Oh! You're finally awake, Melissa," said a man who had just entered the room. Who's Melissa? The name sounds so familiar to me. He approached me, but I moved away from him. "Don't come any closer. I'm not Melissa. Let me go," I threatened. I could see intense anger in his eyes, and it was terrifying. "You can't escape from me anymore," he declared with authority. "I'm not Melissa," I shouted, my voice trembling. Why wouldn't he believe me? "You can't fool me," he said angrily. After he spoke those words, he forcefully kissed me, nearly injuring my lips with the way he did it. I tried to push him away, but he was too strong. He finally pulled back. "You demon," I cried. He gave a devilish smirk. "You're mine, mine alone." He walked towards the door and left. He's a beast. Tears streamed down my face as I wondered, "Who are you, Melissa? Why do so many people here keep insisting that I'm her?" In my distress, I must have fallen asleep. I woke up, and it seemed like it was in the afternoon. I felt anxious when the door suddenly opened again, and there he was, the man I despised so much. He had a tray of food and approached me. I moved further away from him. He sat on the edge of the bed. "Eat, Melissa," he said emotionlessly. I looked at him, and we were relatively close, so I could see his face clearly. His eyes were intensely black, his nose well-shaped, and he had kissable lips with lush black hair. All in all, he was undeniably handsome. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was a demon. "How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not Melissa?" I shouted hoarsely, probably due to my crying earlier. "Let me go." He merely glanced at me, disregarding what I had said. "Eat," he repeated. I tapped the tray of food he brought, causing it to fall and spill onto the floor. He stood up abruptly. "Why did you do that?" he yelled angrily, his gaze filled with menace. My hands trembled. Why did I provoke him like this? I took a deep breath and faced his glare. I can handle this. "I don't want that! I don't want to eat anything that comes from you," I bravely declared. Slap! I was shocked as he slapped me across the face with such force that my neck nearly snapped, and my lip started bleeding from the impact. I clutched my cheek in pain, and my body felt numb. "Ts-k. If only you had obeyed me, this wouldn't have happened," he said coldly. "Demon! You're a demon!" I muttered in fear. "Tsk." I didn't realize it, but he lifted me up. I didn't know where we were going, but I remember we reached the end of a corridor. There was a door, and he threw me inside. I hit something hard with my back. "Stay there until you grow old, Mel," he said coldly. I didn't want to be here. I was terrified, and it was so dark. "No! Don't leave me here!" I pleaded. He didn't listen to my pleas. He slowly closed the door until it was shut. I cried and cried; I didn't want to be here. I hoped it was just a nightmare. "Mom, Dad, please help me wake up from this nightmare." I tried to stand and search for a light switch to illuminate the room. Then, I heard a rustling noise. "Who's there?" I asked, trembling. Could there be ghosts here? I didn't want to die. "Ummm, I'm Jero," it said. Who's that? Maybe there are ghosts here after all, and I really don't want to die! I was shaking in fear. "Please don't hurt me," I whispered. Then, I tried to find the light switch to turn on the lights. Suddenly, I heard someone say, "Hi." I turned around, and there was a strange creature at the window. It had fur, was small, had ears and a tail. Hahaha, it's so cute. It's so cute that I couldn't resist hugging it. It felt so light. "I couldn't breathe!. " I let go, and the creature seemed to be struggling to breathe. "Sorry," I apologized. "Anyway, I'm Lisa. You must be Jero, right?" It nodded. "Why are you here? Were you also imprisoned by that demon?" "It seems like it. We've been here for a long time. We can't get out because there's a barrier blocking us." "Wait! When you say 'we,' does that mean there are others with you? Who?"
