“Did you hear me, April?” Raven demanded haughtily. “I asked you a question.” April had let the silence between them stretch for so long that the air between them was positively rife with tension. She bit her lip as she avoided eye contact with her older sister, desperate to find a distraction and uncaring of fire obvious her reluctance was. “What are you on about how?” she asked unconvincingly. “I didn't hear a word you said.” The elder of the two closed the distance that separated them in a heartbeat.
