♛Five♛   Waiting to be someone else, is a waste of person you are. -Marilyn Monroe- Ylejah:   “Ya’ sure?” Zayna Hermosa. I heaved a satiating breath reading a little of information ‘bout that sneaky-hand street rat.   “Certainly, sir. She’s a graduating college student. Nagtatrabaho sa gabi bilang waitress at entertainer—well, kumakanta siya minsan. She’s also a martial arts trainor.”    Gerald just called all the information to Jasper. Both were my private investigators who worked on the field for me while I was here in my twin cedars mansion in Burnaby, Canada. Yet the two kept on updating about their special task—keeping an eye of that little rascal, Zayna Hermosa..   She worked hard, huh? Coz she only got three months.. As what I gotta had to deal with her—after her graduation. Damn. People like her shouldn’t be conveyed by her unlawful deeds—she deserved to be kicked inside the jail.    Yet, that pitiable voice.. Her story and her damn pretty face! Who am I not to give her a chance to graduate before..before I put her in jail?    She must learn her lessons as I learned mine. Guess she wasn’t a liar after all, huh? Based upon the e-mailed documents—she had a hard life. One little brave rat!   “Alright then, continue tailing her in whatever she does. Her uncanny persona mustn’t be underrated.” I played my growing beard on my face visioning her—how many days has it been?   “Daddy’s here.. Look!”   Just as I ended my video call to with Jasper, Tara Winterson stepped in. ‘Akay nito ang anak kong si Lana na nakasimangot habang papunta sa’kin—she’s five years old and a smart gorgeous little princess.   Alana, my wife..left me such a beautiful creation. Lana is my life..   After that horrifying accident—it was a miracle that Lana survived, but my wife? And everytime, I thought about that day—it’s tormenting. It’s still killing me..   Not in POV:   “What’s wrong with that face, cupcake? Come here..” “I don’t like her.” Lana candidly rustled. She sat on his father’s lap and hugged him tight while muttering words against her aunt Tara. Ylejah apologetically eyed to Tara who was followed by his butler, Mr. Tim and handed her his black coffee.   “Thank you, Tim. You may leave.. Here’s your coffee, Ylejah.” Tara placed the coffee on his busy table.   They were in his private huge business-class office in his own mansion and Ylejah was a bit surprised by Tara’s visit amidst the stormy night. Lana has diagnosed with Arrhythmia since she was a three-month old baby. Lana’s heart’s electrical system doesn’t function normally and causes her heart to beat faster or slower than normal, or erratically. Her doctor’s affirmed that the major cause was the tragic accident when Alana was still conceiving the child.   “It isn’t your job, Tara but--thank you.”   Ylejah’s sister-in-law had been always at his side since the day his wife passed. Raising a child alone while business competing at the same time wasn’t easy—he was thankful that Yvonne, Ylejahs sister helped his brother in raising the child.   Of course—he could compensate numbers of certified and professional babysitters and nurses for his little princess—yet he wanted Lana felt the feeling of having a family. So, he asked Yvonne to be with them until Lana’s 3rd year—thank goodness his sister’s too kind..   “No. it’s fine with me. You know that, El.” Natigilan saglit si Ylejah—only his late wife called him El. Kunwa’y nagulat rin si Tara. “Oh. I’m sorry.” Regretfully, she uttered. And he only loved and desired one woman—that would be his wife.   “Just—Just don’t call me by that name. You hell knew you shouldn’t.”   You’re simply not in the position, Tara. When Alana died, he was way too lost—to lose to fight life back. He became an obsessed of alcohol and Tara was there to picked his s**t up—and his company had almost down not until as early as three months after her prematured months—Lana’s uncurable heart disease shown sympthoms of it..   Parang nagising ulit si Ylejah—kailangan niyang bumangon para sa munting anghel—that he should continue living even without Alana.. It was a miracle that she survived—at hindi kailan mapapatawad ni Ylejah ang panahong ninakaw nila ang buhay ng kaniyang asawa.. He just couldn’t forgive no matter how he tried to forget everything. It’s not as easy as that!    “I’m sorry, Ylejah. Guess, you still haven’t move on after what? Five years?”   Sadness was all over her face. How many times does she have to prove her worth to the man? The first time Tara laid her eyes to her sister’s boyfriend—she fell in love! She just mistakenly fell in love..   Her sister, Alana loved him so much same as the man. And no, Tara had never felt joy after Alana died when she was in her eight month pregnancy..   Sino bang kapatid ang kayang mag-saya? They’ve been married for just nine months—less than a year when..when that tragic and horrific day happened to the two. That abrupt incident saddened their whole family—lalo na nga si Ylejah. He loved Alana so damn much that until now, he bares the pain of losing the one he loved.. She’s a smart princess—at such a young age she studied three different languages; Spanish, French and Tagalog. Ylejah was born in Canada yet he and Yvonne is a Filipino by blood. When his late foster father, Clyde Ortega adopted the two young orphans—tinuruan sila nitong magsalita ng wikang Filipino.   “I don’t wanna talk about personal issues that I believe you shouldn’t be concerned about.”    Frankly, Ylejah said to Tara as turned around and paced towards the door. He carried his daughter on his arms and felt the heaviness—parang nakatulog na ‘ata ang anak nito. He dearly kissed his daughter’s forehead as she was carried to her room. Napabuntong-hiningang bumalik siya sa loob ng malaking opisina—he passed by Tara’s side pretending to see her no more. Ylejah’s not too dumb not to notice her obvious affection towards him! He is and will be her older sister’s husband—that won’t change for Pete’s sake yet Tara’s here was too evident.   Ylejah dislikes it!   Bumalik ito sa upuan. He turned his laptop on, naka-sleep mode nalang naman. He heard the door’s lock ticked—he was shaken seeing Tara took a step closer towards his table—in insanely seductive manner.   “Tara, what the hell are you doing? I believe, you should leave now—“ Natigil siya nang hinubad ng babae ang damit dito sa harapan ni Ylejah—tumanbad sa kanya ang walang saplot na katawan ni Tara. He disturbingly stood up—galit itong sumugod sa babae saka pinulot ang damit at itinapon sa babae.   “What the f**k are you doing!? Are you that insane--!?” Bulyaw ni Ylejah sa babaeng pulang-pula ang mukha sa kahihiyan. She painfully stared straight on his fuming eyes.   “Yes! Hell yes, Ylejah—I’m insane and too desperate to open your eyes again that I am here, too! I am here for you..” Wika ni Tara. She discarded her dress from covering against her nudeness and threw it on the cold floor—she closed their gaps and kissed him. Hindi ‘agad naka-react  si Ylejah and then he saw his wife’s face as he closed his eyes. He instantly pushed her away—napasabunot ito sa sariling buhok.   “What the f**k’s wrong with you, Tara!? Hell!” He roared curses—narinig din niyang may kumatok sa labas. He bet that was his butler—thinking what had happened inside the room.   “No, we’re fine, Tim! We’re f***ing fine..” Bumalik ulit ang tingin niya sa babaeng halatang natigilan sa kung ano man ang kanyang binabalak. She was still standing there—totally naked!   “..I am f****ing married to your sister! Are you that crazy!?” Wala itong pakialam kung hubo’t hubad man ito sa harapan niya—he totally cared not coz he simply doesn’t like Tara. Not a f****ing chance!   “No. You were married—she..she was dead—for five years. She was gone and I..I am here! I am here—“ Tara’s beautiful—no, hell seductively alluring. She’s a damn model—a successful one yet she quitted and later applied to Ylejah’s company or does she have another agenda?   “Get your clothes and leave, Tara. Before I have to forget that you exist—leave, and I’ll forget what you have foolishly said and done.” That was his last warning for her—and he couldn’t believe what she just said and done tonight.
