"Father,", I repeated, surveying his face and physique. From what I could remember, he was feared by everyone and had that wicked smirk that drooled out with his brown-colored eyes. He was handsome and charming, the type of man I could use to replace Kevin in my life.
"Who told you the baby in my womb is yours?" I questioned. I wasn't going to let him into my life just because I was carrying his baby. He left me for four whole months with a note stating he would return. Quite a piss off.
"I know my bloodline when I see one. I can feel my blood rushing in his veins, so I know," he concluded, moving his hand to my stomach. I raised my head to get a good glimpse of his face, and there our eyes met, bringing back memories I wanted gone.
"So what now?" I couldn't resist the temptation of gazing into his eyes and down to his attractive lips.
"You will have to follow me back to my place. I can't let you stay here.".
"And if I resist?".
"I'm not sure you will want to do that.".
"It's been nice meeting you. Have a good day." I escape his arms and retire into the cottage.
"Formation 101: Do your job.".
"Yes, sir," they chorused, breaking down the door of the cottage and swiveling in.
"What are you doing?" I inquired, moving back to avoid any casualties.
"Orders from above, miss.".
Little did I know Nathaniel lived in a large, imposing residence that had rather intricate architecture with elegant chandeliers and ornate furnishing in the inner rooms, exuding an air of sophistication that left visitors in awe. Maids and guards roamed the mansions surrounding them, trying to keep everywhere clean and safe, but on the condition that they should never meet with him head-on.
"Good morning, sir. I see you brought a visitor along with you," a young lady said as she walked towards us. She was in a blue crop top and a skirt that barely reached her knee. Was this how he liked his woman? I couldn't help but be anxious about it.
"Sophia, meet my mistress Mary. Mary, this is Sophia, my assistant.".
"Nice to meet you, Sophia," I said, stretching forth my hand for a handshake.
"Dinner is waiting for you. I don't want you to eat it cold," she declared, leaving my hand to hang in midair.
As we walked into the mansion, I could see all the maids taking to their heels. No one wanted to be near Nathaniel, not even for a second. I could smell the fear in their minds as they all scuttled off to the boy's quarters beside the mansion. At first, it was good to see people fear him, but now I was getting worried. The door of the mansion creaked open, and a woman in a red gown walked out. At the sight of Nathaniel, the woman shrieked, and she retraced her steps as her impulse began to rise. The door of the mansion, which had once opened easily, became too stiff for her to open, and eventually, Nathaniel caught up to her.
"What do you have to say for this behavior of yours?" He started by grabbing her by the neck and lifting her off the ground.
"I didn't know you were coming; please forgive me," she managed to say as he choked her.
"Leave her alone," I requested, feeling a sense of sympathy for her.
"And why should I do that?" He had that wicked smirk on his face, only this time his eyes were glowing.
"Because it is the right thing to do," I said, holding his hand back.
"You're lucky she was here to save you," he said, letting go of her neck and letting her fall right down to the ground.
"She still doesn't know her place in this mansion," Sophia let out as she opened the emerald-colored door.
"Treat people nicer. Don't take advantage of your strength and use it against people weaker than you," I declared as I walked into the mansion.
"You don't tell me what to do. I brought you here for a purpose, and you are going to fulfill it," he grabbed me by the wrist, applying enough pressure to break my bone.
"Maybe I was wrong about you," I said in pain.
"No one is ever right when it comes to me.".
"It's better I leave you than to watch you torture the weak.".
"You don't know your way back; I abducted you, remember? Just play by my rules, and your safety will be guaranteed," he whispered into my ears before leaving me.
"Take her to her room and get her dressed for dinner," he commanded Sophia, who had been focused on the scene before her.
Sophia led me upstairs to a master bedroom. It would have been a seven-star bedroom if it were to be a hotel. As I wandered around the room, three maids walked in, each with a colored robe.
"Sir Nathaniel wants you to wear one of these robes for dinner," Sophia explained, bringing forth the robes. They were in the colors red, gold, and silver, and I was to pick one. Red seemed like the best pick, and I went with it. The robes had a crescent symbol boldly imprinted on the back and claw marks as the shoulder prints.
I couldn't stop wondering who Nathaniel was. Only Alphas were rich enough to own mansions and control people like that, but even Alphas had a limit to the number of maids and guards they had. He ought to be something greater. After a shower, I returned to the room to get dressed before meeting Sophia.
"Sorry to bother you; I just want to ask a question," I spoke up.
"And what would that be?" she asked.
"Who exactly is Nathaniel?" I went straight to it. Sophia gasped as she heard the question and immediately closed my mouth.
"Do you want to get killed? He is the 32nd Alpha of the crescent moon pack and the cruelest in history.".
