Volume 1 Part 13: One Sided Battle

It was insane to me, he had not even known my name a few seconds ago, yet he was attacking me. He was fast, all it took was a blink of an eye and the wooden blades were at my face, I jumped back making it just in time to avoid the attack "Are you out of your mind?" I asked "No, I just want to fight you to see how strong you are," he smiled "So you just blindly attack me?" I glared "Yeah, doing pretend you're not thinking about it too," he smirked "And how do you know what I'm thinking?" "I can see it in your eyes," he retorted "I think you might be insane," I sighed "Come now, are you seriously telling me that you are not at all interested in fighting with me?" he asked and I actually to think about it for a moment. I would have been lying if I had denied it. Ever since I had Mister given him a word of praise, I wondered just how I'd do in a fight with what Mister considered impressive "See, you want to fight with me too. Honestly from the moment I saw you I could feel a connection with you. You might be the one to help me do it," he said "What?" I asked, getting lost in his rambling "It doesn't matter right now; let's just continue our fight," he said getting into a fighting stance I stood for a moment pondering what my next course of action would be, but eventually I removed the bow from my back. I had one arrow left and given the distance between us and his speed. He could clear that distance long before I even released the string. So, I had to use a rather crude method, I held on to the bow with both hands as I tried to meet Lucien's gaze. I looked at him and he looked at me before chuckling "What's so funny?" I asked "Nothing really. Just, it's really clear that you don't use melee weapons much. Your stance is awful," he said with his chuckle turning into full blown laughter. His laughter had annoyed me so I tightened my grip on the bow and threw myself at him "Let's see if you can keep laughing after I win," I exclaimed as I swung from the side. Lucien remained calm in the face of my surprise attack and with a smile on his face he raised his hand the block with one of his wooden swords. But that smug smile of his soon faded when my bow made contact with his sword. That hit had sent him flying "How's that for bad at melee," I chuckled hoping that he would crash into the tree he was flying towards, however he had gracefully flipped in the air before landing on a low hanging branch "Wow, you're pretty strong," he said "That's nothing, I can carry seven hundred pounds with ease," I bragged as he jumped down from the branch again "I knew you'd be interesting," he smiled "Really? I'm not so funny anymore, am I?" I mockingly said "That remains to be seen," he said as his cocky smirk, that I was beginning to hate, returned to his face "Fine, bring it on," I said, charging towards him again. Again, I tried to hit him from the side, however this time he easily back stepped out the way before counter attacking with a strike to my stomach which sent me rolling backwards After I stepped rolling in the dirt, I stood up and went back to a fighting stance. I was thankful for my strong body honed by Mister's chores "Again," I said charging towards him again. I tried to attack him, but he sidestepped my attack with ease and followed up with another hit. I continued my feverish assault as I swung the bow wantonly "Wow, who taught you how to fight?" he asked casually dodging another of my attacks before hitting me again with one of his swords "All you're doing is swing the bow. Your attacks are so telegraphed that a blind man could see it coming from a mile away," he said casually flipping over a side s***h. He landed a top my head using my head as a launch board to flip away while pushing me face first into the dirt. I got up frustrated as I angrily brushed myself off. I swung around to see him standing away from me looking board "Honestly, I'm actually disappointed," he sighed "This isn't over," I said through gritted "The way you're attacking you'll never hit me. Looks like I won't be tonight either," he let out a disappointed sigh "Look, I don't know what you're talking about, but I already said this fight isn't over," I said "Then I might as well finish this now," he said dashing towards me. "I'm ready," I declared boldly, but I was obviously wrong. He was too fast, one moment he swung the sword and another I was hit. I was powerless to do anything as he continued his assault on my body, Hitting my arms, shoulders, legs and even my stomach. I tried to block, but again he was too fast. I only thing I could do was stand there as he attacked. Then I saw an attack that he was heading towards my head in a thrust. This thrust was faster than the others and clear intent to end the fight. This was my last chance to do anything, because if that attack were to hit me it was clear that I was going to lose consciousness. I needed to move and in that moment a thought came to my mind. That movement that Lucien had did to dodge the man earlier. Thanks to my right eye I could remember the exact movements in my head that he did so all it was took was a moment for me to let my body replicate his movements and the next thing I knew I had managed to dodge the attack and somehow made distance between the two of us "Are you sure you're not a noble?" Lucien asked turning towards me "Yep, I'm positive" I said "Well, that was a technique that only a noble should know. So who taught you that?" "Would you believe me if I said you did?" I chuckled at his bewildered look on his face "You are an interesting person," he said with a bright smile "Thank you," I said "However, that move alone won't save you," he said smugly I knew he was right; it had been a miracle that I was able to dodge that attack. If we continued this fight, I would inevitably end up the loser, however I hated that thought. I hated the thought of losing, much less to this smug bastard. "Hey, can I ask you something?" I asked "Huh, are you throwing in the towel after that boastful talk about winning?" he mockingly asked "No, I just want to know if you can keep a secret," I said "A secret?" he said confused "Yeah, I want to win this fight, but I can't go all out if you can't keep this a secret for me," "Does it have to do with your hidden golden right eye?" he asked "What? How did you know?" I asked "I saw it when I ran past you. It looked cool if you ask me," he said "Yeah, well can I ask you to keep it a secret for me?" I asked "Sure," he shrugged, "I'd happily do it, if it means that I can get a better fight," "Okay, then let's get to round two," I said as I removed the covering and tossed it to the ground. A smile appeared on my face as the world brighten around me "Well, your stance is still awful, so I don't think much as changed" he mocked "Why don't you come check yourself if anything is different," I said with a cocky smirk "Okay," he shrugged nonchalantly before dashing towards him. He still fast as hell, but this time I could follow his movements with ease. He swung his sword at me and I blocked it easily. With my enhanced vision, I watched with glee as his face filled with shock and using that moment I grabbed onto his wooden sword and tried to deliver a kick. Lucien was smart. He knew that a tug-o-war with me was a fool's errand so he released the sword and jumped back to make distance between us "Wow, not bad," he said "You ain't seen nothing yet," I said flipping the sword and catching it by the hilt "Not going to lie, you might actually be the one," he said "The one?" I asked confused "Have you ever heard of aura, Azrael?" he asked randomly
