Sara

The energy in our house was finally back to normal. Back to our calm atmosphere, the way it should be. My dad is the biggest asshole there is. I couldn't believe how he could come and threatened to take us away. He doesn't deserve us. I was so scared for Jamie. He had claws coming out of his hand. His skin just spit opened and blood ran out from the split skin. Thanks to Jacob for calming him down. Our Dad abandoned us and left us to struggle. We watched our mother work day in and out just to make ends meet. Trying to keep food on the table every night. While Dad remarried and forgot about us. Mom wouldn't allow me to work to ease the stress. She wanted us to focus on school. I know I gave her a hard time at our old home, but I was pissed off. Not at her but at our situation. I wanted more than what we had then. "Sara, can I stay in here with you tonight?" Ariel walked into my room. "Come on. But Walton has to stay out." I pulled my blanket back for her. She settled in beside me. That cat gave me the creeps. "Comfy?" I asked, tucking her in. "uh huh." I snuggled up beside her. "Sara?" "Yes, Ariel?" "Why don't bad daddy like me?" My heart jumped. How do I answer that?Dad never paid attention to Ariel. He never showed any affection or love towards her. Jamie and I never knew why, but we noticed. He would take Jamie and I out to games and to get ice cream but never Ariel. Mom would say she was too little, and dad never knew how to care for fragile things. Ariel was too fragile and sweet to be handled without care. That was just an excuse. I knew better. Jamie and I knew that was only an excuse she would give us to cover our Dad's carelessness. Jamie and I picked up his slack and showed Ariel attention and affection. We always hug her and tell her how much we love her. I know mom appreciated us doing that. It made her happy. I loved it when mom was happy. For months after Dad left, I could hear her in the shower crying when she thought we were asleep. "He's just unhappy with himself, Ariel. You're too much goodness and sweet. He doesn't know how to handle it. But we love you. Mom, Jamie, and I. Dad doesn't deserve any of us. I know you're little and don't understand things, but when you're older, things will be clearer." "Ok, Sara. Does Jacob love me?" " Of course he does. Now go to sleep, okay Ariel." I kissed her softly on her chubby cheek. "I love you." "Nite nite Sara. Love you." I watched as she drifted off to sleep. Jacob was new, but I didn't doubt his love for any of us. He shows it in all he does for us. Picking us up from school. Making us dinner. Reading and playing with Ariel. And when he wasn't able to do something, he always had someone around to help until he could come. Now that I know about werewolves and how much of a big deal Jacob is as an Alpha. Him taking time out for us makes me love him more as a father than my real one. "Sara," I heard my name being called. I sat up and looked around, feeling a bit paranoid. "I'm not in your room, silly. I'm your wolf." "My wolf?" I asked, talking to myself. "You're not talking to yourself. You're talking to me. And you don't have to talk out loud, but we are one you can talk with our minds." Like talking to myself, in my head. Yes, I'm Osha, your wolf. How does this work? Well, when you turn eighteen, you will be able to transform into your fur. For now, I will always be with you. We will be able to talk and communicate always. I'm always here for you and will never leave you. I can't see you until I'm eighteen? Yes, you will see me then. I'm blessed from the Moon Goddess Selene to have such a loving human. Ariel is special always look after her. I know it and I will always. Goodnight Sara get some rest. Goodnight Osha
