Jacob brought us breakfast every day. It's been two months here at Laverne. I finally I got the store open and running with Jacob and his friends' help. I've met three other friends of his other than Nate. There is Charlie, Sofia, who is Charlie's wife, and Stephen. We've painted the entire store and got tables and lounge chairs put in the store. The place is awesome and so far it's been open for two weeks and there have been lots of customers. Being across from the bakery is wonderful. People have been getting their donuts from there and visiting my shop to get books, read, or use the lounge area with their laptops. Ariel has been enjoying her new preschool. Jameson and Sara love the place. Sara has made new friends and doesn't seem so closed off. I'm surprised at how good things fell into place. This is the break we all needed. I guess our old life was stressful, I now realize the effects it had on the kids. I wish Aunt Margaret was here, so I could thank her for helping my family. "Mom, your Mr. Boyfriend is here." Jameson joked. I laughed tossing the dish towel at him. Jameson laughed also. I was finishing dinner. I made bacon cheeseburger sliders and steak fries. We'll have ice cream for dessert. Jacob entered the kitchen with drinks in tow. His presence made my body tingle all over. The same feeling I get whenever he is near. I really couldn't explain it. The kids didn't mind having him around. Sara didn't reject his presence, and I was glad. If any of them felt negative about him, I would have dropped our friendship immediately. I learned from the way my ex treated Ariel to listen to my kids' opinions. Ariel dispised of her dad, and I think deep down she felt his negatively towards her. I was heartbroken over the way he never bonded with Ariel. Ariel looked different from Sara and Jameson. Her hair was obviously darker from our bonde hair. She had darker eye color than us. But she had my side of the family genes. She looked exactly like my grandmother and Aunt Margaret. Those ladies were identical, and Ariel is a mini version of the two. I explained that to my ex-husband during an argument one night. He insisted that Ariel was not his child. I offered for a DNA test, but he refused. He knew deep inside that she belonged to him. He was looking for an excuse to leave that night. Jameson and Sara loved on their little sister. They never complained about her or gave her the annoying little sister treatment. They saw how their father brushed her off and chose to love her more. "Smells wonderful in here." Jacob entered the large kitchen. placing the drinks on the countertop. "Hi, Jacob." I greeted him with a smile and a hug. "Hi, beautiful." Jacob gave me a peck on the cheek. I felt like a teenager around him. A horny one at that. "Mr. Jacob, Mr. Jacob!" Ariel came rushing into the room with the biggest smile on her face. She hugged his legs. Jacob laughed, hauling her into his arm, giving Ariel a big hug. I smiled. The two seemed to have a bond that developed quickly. Ariel smelled Jacob shirt. I frowned. "Ariel, baby. I told you not to do that, honey." "Sorry." Ariel said but still smiled at Jacob. "It's fine, Melissa. It comforts her. I don't mind. She smells like Marshmallows." He made her laugh. "I could smell you before you got here, Mr. Jacob. You smell wonderful like rain." Jacob smiled. "Go get your brother and sister for me, babe. Tell them to come eat." "Yes, Mama." Ariel said. Taking off upstairs. Jacob set the table, placing the paperware out, and I put the food out. " How was your day?" I asked Jacob. "Good. I had a lot of meetings today." "Are you like the major or royalty around here?" "Royalty no. Major, yes, " Jacob chuckled. "I'm leaning more towards royalty. Your Highness Jacob Miller." I bowed a little. He laughed. His deep, wonderful laughed sent little waves throughout my body. Damn he was making me horny. He growled lowly, and his eyes darkened. I like it when he does that. I'm beginning to think it's not normal. I've never met anyone who growls, but I have met people with different eyes. Having a grandmother like mine we met lots of people. I've seen people eyes glow, which is definitely not normal for regular people. I became used to it, though. Grandmother had lots of weird friends that I got used to. Jacob had that same ability. "Why did you ask?" Jacob, place the cups out. "I saw some people bow when approaching you. And listening to people around here talk. They think highly of you and Nate." "We are important people around here.." "Mom, Ariel is talking to herself again." Jameson said with Sara behind him. "Where is Ariel?" "In her room..Hi Mr. Miller." Jameson greeted Jacob. "Hi, Jameson. Sara." "Hi, Mr. Miller." They took their seats. "I'll be right back. Let me get Ariel." I went upstairs and got to Ariel's door. I heard her giggle. "Ariel, babe." I said, pushing the door open. "Yes, mommy." "Time for dinner, baby. Who were you talking to?" "Walton.. He's shy, Mama." " Ok, well, maybe he will come out soon so I can meet with him. Let's eat everyone's waiting for us." I grabbed her hand, and we went downstairs. I was not alarmed. I just wished Walton was visible for the rest of us. She started mentioning Walton for a few weeks now. According to the lawyer, Walton is a real pet, and he will show up when he is ready. After dinner, Jacob talked with the kids. Sara didn't stick around long before she got on her phone and went to her room. Jameson soon followed he wanted to play on his gaming console. Last Ariel fell asleep. I got her into bed tucked in. I went back downstairs. I finally had some alone time with Jacob. Jacob grabbed my hand and led me outside to the porch. He sat on the porch swing farthest away from the door. He pulled me into his lap. I giggled. He wrapped his strong arms around my waist. I leaned against his body, my head nestled against his chest. This is the first time for us being this close-up on each other other than a hug. I have to admit this feels good. I felt secure and wanted. "What's on your mind?" Jacob asked. "Nothing, just thinking about how good this feels. You make me feel wanted for the first time in years. Ariel seems to like you a lot." "But?" I sat up so I could look at his face. I felt his manhood pressed against my bottom. I tried to move, but Jacob pulled me back in place. "You were saying?" He winked. I smiled. "I want to know how long you plan on sticking around? You're a single man, and I'm a divorcee." "I'm not going anywhere. I'm single, but I've been waiting for my mat.. person for a long time, and you are that person. I love your kids like I love you. I will protect them as they are my own." I was speechless. Who is this man? "Just being honest. I've waited to long for you." "So you want us?" "I already have you guys and I'm not letting any of you go." "Really. Our hearts can't take getting attached to you, and then you change your mind about us. Especially Ariel. Her father won't acknowledge her. Never has. You have shown her more attention in a month than he has her entire life." I watched as Jacob eyes flicker light to dark, then back light."He doesn't deserve her. Any of you." He said in a deeper voice that growled out. He traced my jawline with a finger. Little tingles filled the trail. "Jacob?" "Why do I feel so connected to you? Every since the first day we've met. Am I the only one between us who feels like this?" "No, I feel the same. You are my fated mate. I'm yours, and you are mine." "Mates?"
