He shut his eyes tight, scared to see the scene in front of him again. He tried to calm himself. As he began to calm down, he opened his eyes, and the blood seemed to have disappeared or evaporated. He sat up in his bed trying to wrap his head around the scene that had just occurred. At that moment, he wondered if he should continue the search for her or stop it. He removed the covers, put his feet into his slippers, and made his way to the bathroom. He entered the washroom, closing the door behind him. He began washing his face, trying to forget what had happened. Then flashbacks of the horrific scene reveal themselves again, while he was getting dressed, causing him to tumble over and fall onto the floor. Some would say he had been hexed, or the gods had so-called taken the powers that were presented to him, but he strongly doubted that would have happened. He stood up, getting dressed as fast as he could to talk to Valarie. He knew that he couldn't give up the search for her. He had to know what had happened, and if she was okay. He felt a strange sensation in his body, almost like a tingling. He shook it off, thinking it was just the stress of the situation. He quickly got dressed and left his quarters, heading down to speak to Valarie. He wondered if his mysterious maiden was safe, but he knew one thing for sure, which was he had to find her before something dangerous happened. As he walked down the hallway, he couldn't help but feel like he was being watched. He kept turning around, but no one was there. He shrugged it off, still feeling uneasy, but he just assumed it was just his imagination. Finally, he arrived at the end of the hallway, being met by Valarie and Miguel. Valarie and Miguel were waiting for him, looking concerned. He could tell by the expression on their faces that something was wrong. As he approached them, they both began to speak at once, telling him that they had some news about the mysterious maiden he had been searching for. His heart raced as he listened to them, hoping that they had found some clue to her whereabouts. Valarie told him that they had found a witness who had seen the mysterious maiden a few days ago. She was spotted near the outskirts of the city, heading towards the forest. Miguel added that they had already sent a search party to that area to investigate further. Jackson felt a wave of relief wash over him. Finally, he had some tangible leads to follow. He knew that the forest was a dangerous place, but he couldn't let that stop him. He thanked Valarie and Miguel and got his things and set off to the woods, bidding them farewell. As he walked, he couldn't shake off the strange sensation in his body that he had felt earlier. It was getting stronger now, almost like a current of electricity running through his veins. He wondered if it was related to the search for the mysterious maiden. He decided to ignore it for now and focus on the task at hand. After a few hours of walking, he finally reached the outskirts of the forest. He could see the search party in the distance, combing through the trees. He joined them, hoping to find some clue that could lead him to the mysterious maiden.
