I had hoped the call would provide Wylder and Killian with more answers. They deserved it as much as I did, yet it surprised me when Killian informed his dad that since he wouldn’t provide any, he was going to form his own opinion about the situation.
It warmed my heart because I believed it meant my mates might actually reconcile. Not merely a truce, but genuine reconciliation. It meant there would be no more evading, fighting, or accusations.
They might finally move past it all, and we could all find happiness. However, I knew that a killer, or perhaps more, lurked in the shadows, making it potentially very dangerous for me. I was both their mate.
