I was sure my mates had come back when I heard the door open. I moaned a little contently and smiled as I felt a presence coming closer, but it wasn’t a calm energy that was brought with them. The hairs on my neck began rising.
Helena! Wake up! Amaya shouted.
I opened my eyes just in time to see a knife coming my way. I screamed and rolled away, only to see who it was who had come after me. That was Reese’s father! He looked at me coldly and smiled. He reached out and grabbed me, and this time I didn’t get away in time.
“No!” I tried moving my head and cut myself on the knife. It sliced the side of my cheek open, and I screamed in pain.
“Lie still,” he growled darkly. “It will be over quickly.”
I didn’t want it to be over with and kept moving around.
“No! Wylder! Killian!”
