I woke up this time on Wylder’s couch. I looked around the room, only to find him at the desk he had in his room. It seemed like he enjoyed working here as well as in his office.
He’s a bit of a workaholic, isn’t he? my wolf commented.
I smiled a little at the thought, and suddenly he looked up from his computer, his eyes warming at the sight of my smile.
“Morning,” he greeted, his voice carrying a hint of heat just from looking at me.
“Morning,” I replied, though without much feeling.
We hadn’t really spoken after our disagreement yesterday. He had just gone to do some work in his office, and I had finally decided to get some sleep. The rest was much needed, though. I felt better now that I had gotten a chance to relax, rather than waking up in a stranger’s bed the next mor
