I had only just dressed after my shower when I noticed the bedroom was empty. It was still early in the afternoon. Had Helena already gone downstairs to eat some lunch?
When I had gone to shower, she had been in the room, quietly reading a book. I had just returned from a run, and now I didn’t know where she had suddenly disappeared to.
