TRYST IN MOONLIGHT

Someone knocked at the door but Casper completely ignored. After being ignored three times, the door opened and a female voice came after a few seconds,

" Mr Casper, have you taken your medicines?",

Casper's fixated eyes balls moved a little and he took a deep breath to reply and said, "Leave me alone, Miss Sophie ",

She replied, "But...."

Ere could she complete her sentence, Casper shouted without turning back, " I said leave!".

She left and Casper turned back to slam the door with so much force that Miss Sophie walking outside got still for a moment and turned back to look at the door and then continued walking .

Miss Sophie was an old nurse of Casper. She was an active nurse stepping in her old age. She was the only one who knew about the mental condition of Casper. She had been with him since childhood as she was hired by Casper's mother as his caretaker. She was loyal to her job and has always kept the secret of Casper's mental condition hidden from the society.

Though Casper used to regard her much more than other servants but she still used to get scared of him often and avoided indulging much in his life. Infact, Casper wasn't much liked by any of his servants due to his aggression and rudeness.

After Miss Sophie was gone, Casper sat at floor supporting his back against the door, hid his face in his arms which were resting on his bent knees and shouted like a child and started questioning his existence as usual.

He cried and said to himself, "I've been struggling to keep my family business flourishing for years, I have achieved everything , I have got everything yet NOTHING.

I have no purpose of my life. I have no one to live for. Everything is meaningless. Where's my part of pleasure God?" and started crying more bitterly.

"It's becoming too hard to pass each day.

Why are you so ruthless to me? Why don't I deserve to have the peace people talk about? Why? " he continued, and struggled to get up while crying and looked for the bottle of alcohol. Finding it under the bed, he held it with a firm grasp and looked at it with comparatively contented expressions.
