The sterile smell of antiseptic filled the room. Aria opened her eyes to a soft cream ceiling, lying on Egyptian cotton sheets in a luxury private hospital suite.
"You slept for fourteen hours," a smooth, deep voice said.
Sitting in a leather armchair by the window was Dante Vance, the city’s most feared corporate titan and Julian’s bitterest rival.
"Mr Vance?" Aria’s voice was raspy. "Why am I here?"
"My driver found you collapsed in the rain," Dante said, stepping toward her bed. "My team checked your record. Three years ago, you were the top graduate from the Royal Academy. Yesterday, Julian submitted your coastal project blueprints, claiming Chloe designed them."
Aria’s hands clenched the sheets. "They stole everything."
"Then let's make them pay," Dante said, tossing a leather folder onto her lap. "A fake marriage contract. You get full access to my design studio, legal team, and financial backing. In return, you design a proposal that crushes Julian at next month's government pitch."
Aria stared at the terms. For three years, she had played the quiet, dutiful wife, only to be thrown out like garbage.
She picked up the pen and signed.
Dante took the folder, a dark smirk playing on his lips. "A driver is waiting downstairs. Get dressed and meet me at the Grand Opera House tonight. Julian and Chloe are hosting their engagement party there."
He turned at the door. "Tonight, Aria, we burn their world down."
