6 The next few days passed without incident. I continued to be impressed with Brie. She was a natural with a sparkling personality, intuitively knew when to perk up a person and when to dial it down and be empathetic. Several of my patients made it a point to praise her to me. If I could objectively fault her for anything it would be her flirtatious behavior with me. But I enjoyed the flirting. It was fun. It took the edge off those somber moments. And it went no further. Last night I slept over at Hanna’s after playing scrabble with Bobby and her until the wee hours of the morning. I drank too much.
