14 There had been instances while Brie had been working for me when she’d pass by brushing me, or touch my hand, or put her hand on my arm or shoulder, all little intimacies, non-verbal attention getters. But today she wasn’t subtle when she bumped me with her hip, or the time she thanked me by grabbing both shoulders and touching my cheek with hers. I knew we’d have to have that meeting I’d been avoiding with the anticipation feeling both good and bad because of my indecisiveness.
