Alessandra’s Plot. As Alessandra entered the remote clearing tonight, the forest's shadows appeared darker. Under the dim moonlight, her silver gown glinted slightly, yet there was an icy determination in her keen gaze. Marco Cacciatore's worn leather jacket blended into the darkness as he reclined lazily against a tree. As she came closer, he smirked and looked up. Marco straightened and remarked languidly, "You always did like the dramatics." His golden eyes shone with laughter, but there was a hint of interest in his voice. Alessandra curtly retorted, "I didn't come here to trade insults." "I need you to do something." "Are you now?" Marco smirked as he drewled. "What gives you the impression that I'm interested?" Her voice dipped to almost a whisper as she took a step closer. Isabella. She's in the vicinity of the renegade areas. Locate her and provide me with details. I must know what she has planned. Marco furrowed his brow, seeming to be shocked. "Are we still hanging up on the omega?" Alessandra's face became tense. She poses a risk. Please make sure she leaves Lorenzo's life permanently. With his arms crossed, he questioned, "And what's in it for me?" Alessandra said without hesitation, "Money." "Power." protection from others who could try to undermine you. Marco gave serious thought to what she had said, his smirk turning into a contemplative look. "All right. Let me see what I can locate. However, you will owe me. "You'll be rewarded if you do your job," she stated icily as she turned to go. Marco's grin reappeared as Alessandra vanished into the darkness. Although he already had hints as to Isabella's location, he didn't see the need to divulge them just yet. Power came from information, and he intended to use it wisely. Tension was palpable in the council chamber as Alessandra walked in, her steps measured and methodical. Seated in a semicircle, the pack elders' eyes sparkled with distrust despite their faces being weathered with age and knowledge. Alessandra nodded courteously, a small grin forming on her lips. "Thank you for coming together tonight, elders," she said in a calm and authoritative voice. I am here with a very important topic that affects the pack's very future. Senior Giovanni's silver brows knitted together as he leaned forward. "Be straightforward, Alessandra. What's this about? She looked at them and said, "It's about the strength of our pack." Although Lorenzo's leadership is essential, it is insufficient. The only thing that will ensure our existence is a solid coalition. The youngest of the elders, Maria, squinted. "And you think that alliance is your union with Lorenzo?" Alessandra looked directly into Maria's eyes. "I do." We are stronger when we work together. However, even the most effective leaders can be undermined by distractions. I worry that Lorenzo's recent... uncertainty could put our progress in jeopardy. "Uncertainties?" Giovanni's tone was fierce as he urged. With a controlled tone, Alessandra remarked, "His focus has been... divided." "It could destroy the pack's unity if we let distractions divert him from his path." Alessandra could see the seeds of doubt sprouting as the elders' whispers became louder. She took a small step back to give her words time to register. Giovanni's face grew serious. "Alessandra, we'll take your concerns into account." She gave a slight bow in satisfaction and departed the room. Outside, a chilly smile appeared on her lips as her composed mask came off. Her side of the game was changing. As he huddled behind the chamber door, trying to hear every word Alessandra said, Enrico's heart pounded. He was horrified by her machinations, but he made himself remain still because he knew that what he learnt would determine the future of the pack. Enrico disappeared into the darkness as Alessandra eventually left the room, her shoes clicking on the stone floor. Everything he had heard swirled in his head. He realized he needed to move quickly. In the murky light of a lantern, he discovered Matteo sharpening his blade close to the training grounds. With a low but urgent voice, Enrico declared, "We have a problem." Matteo's face darkened as he straightened. "Now what?" Enrico said, looking over his shoulder to make sure they were alone, "It's Alessandra." She is inciting the elders to oppose Lorenzo. She is sowing concerns about his leadership and exploiting their anxieties to strengthen her position. Matteo muttered an expletive. "I didn't realize that woman was that dangerous." "We must inform Lorenzo," Enrico stated firmly. Matteo paused. And run the danger of Alessandra learning? She is sly. She will make sure we regret it if she realizes we're on her. A cold, piercing voice broke through the darkness before they could make up their minds. "What are the two of you whispering?" Alessandra was standing behind them, her eyes glimmering with suspicion, when they turned around. She moved closer, sending a shiver down Enrico's spine. With a low, spiteful voice, she admonished, "Stay out of my affairs." "Or else you'll end up in much more trouble than you can manage." With her irritation barely hidden under a façade of cool determination, Alessandra walked the length of her father's opulent study. Her impatience made the room, which was furnished with dark mahogany furniture and shelves brimming with antiquated books, feel oppressive. Silvio Luporini, her father, was seated behind his desk, staring at her with calculating eyes. He said, his voice a deep rumble tinged with laughter, "You called me for this?" "I assumed you could take care of the DeVargas boy by yourself." Alessandra interrupted her pacing and yelled, "This isn't about handling him." It's about making sure our plans don't fall through. That omega is hesitating, and Lorenzo— Her mouth twisted in contempt. "She has turned into a distraction." Silvio steepled his fingers and reclined in his chair. "An omega is causing you anxiety?" "She's no ordinary omega," Alessandra remarked scathingly. He is being drawn away by the genuine mate bond. The partnership disintegrates if we lose him. Her father's face became stern. "The DeVargas Pack can't afford to abandon this partnership. They are aware of the stakes. Alessandra stepped up and encouraged, "Then remind them." Put pressure on it. Make it obvious that you will not back down. Silvio's eyes shone with a mix of curiosity and pride. "When it comes to obtaining what you desire, you have always been brutal." Her voice softened as she answered, "It's not just what I want," but her determination did not waver. "It is necessary for the pack." Silvio stood, shadowing her with his massive form. "I'll inform the elders." They will be aware of the repercussions of hesitation. But you have to make sure Lorenzo thinks you're his only choice," he said in a forceful tone. With a hint of satisfaction on her face, Alessandra nodded. She felt more in control as she walked out of the study. Everything was coming together, and she refused to allow Isabella or anyone else sabotage her intentions. When Alessandra discovered Lorenzo in the courtyard, his silhouette lighted by the moon's gentle radiance, the nighttime air was thick with the aroma of jasmine. He was lost in thought as he stood with his arms folded and gazed off into space. She moved stealthily closer, taking slow, deliberate movements, and halted just short of his side. "Lorenzo," she murmured in a soft but purposeful voice. "You have been aloof." His jaw tensed as he looked at her, and he turned slightly. "Just pondering." "How about us?" she inquired, a small smile teasing her lips. Or what about her? Although Lorenzo's eyes narrowed, he remained silent. Alessandra took a step forward, her eyes fixed on him. "I can appreciate your skepticism," she remarked quietly. "It's not just about me or you. It's about our people, our packs. They are depending on our strength. Lorenzo answered in a forceful yet hushed voice, "I never agreed to this." "I made the decision on this." "And would Isabella be a better fit for you, in your opinion?" Alessandra remained calm, but her tone became more abrasive. Lorenzo, she's an omega. feeble. lacking experience. She would pull you down. Lorenzo clenched his hands, but Alessandra went on. In contrast, I offer solidity and strength. We can ensure both packs' futures if we work together. But separated? We put everything at danger. Her implication-laden remarks lingered in the atmosphere. Lorenzo looked away, his face unintelligible. Lowering her voice, Alessandra took a step closer. "I'd hate to watch you make a decision that could undo all of our hard work." He looked her in the eye, clearly uncomfortable. "Is that dangerous?" She smiled again and remarked, "A reminder," with ease. "For the benefit of everyone, including her." Lorenzo felt cold at the thought of Isabella. He felt the weight of Alessandra's covert warnings descend upon him like a cloud as she left.
