“Does your Mom know yet?” my father asked suddenly.
“Not yet,” we both said at the same time, “we came here to tell you first.”
“Chelito thought you’d like to know the news, although I didn’t really want to come and bother you.”
“Of course I would, you know me well love!” he said and he gave her a kiss. “Go home quickly then, because your mother’s very nervous today, she told me this morning, ‘I don’t know if I’ll be able to make meals today,’ so go help her out, unless you’d rather celebrate without any dinner,” Dad told us as he walked with us to the door.
The three of us laughed and Chelito kissed him:
“Bye Dad! I love you!” I said.
“And I love you too, both of you,” he answered. “You have no idea how much,” and shaking my hand, he said, “Well done son!”
