Today's the big day! oh, it's not as exciting as it sounds. My name is Emily. My parents are divorced, I live with my father in Pennsylvania while my mother moved to Florida to marry her rich new husband.
Guess what the big day is today, oh just my father making me go stay with my mother because I had gotten into a couple fights at school and got expelled. I really didn't want too live with her. I didn't want to leave my friends I already have here in Pennsylvania.
"Dad, do I really have to go?" I asked with puppy dog eyes, and my lower lip poked out. "Yes Emily, I obviously can't control your out of control behavior. This might do you some good love. You'll be fine, okay?" my father replies, kissing my forehead. "Ughh!" I rolled my eyes and stormed out of the door to the car. My father offered to drive me to the airport and get me on my flight as I had never flown a plane before. Heading to the airport was silent. I'll admit, I was pretty mad at my dad for making me move instead of just homeschooling me. It wasn't fair! she was the one that moved hours away. Why did I have to be the one to leave my life here in Pennsylvania? but it's nothing I can do about it now.
"Dad, I'm just telling you now. If mom's new boyfriend tries to act like my father, I will cuss him out." I randomly blurted out to my father. "No, you will not. Obviously, it's boundaries that man better not cross because I'm your father, but that is his house, and you do have to respect their rules, Emily. you need to stop this acting out phase you're going through." He said.
"Yea, whatever," I replied, rolling my eyes.
My father just looked at me and continued driving. We arrived at the airport. I had 1 hour to get through checking and get to my plane. My father grabbed all 5 of my suitcases, and we put them on the luggage wheel. We finished going through all the areas we needed too and it was now my turn to bore my flight.
"I'm miss you kiddo, I'm sorry i had to do this, but it's just for your best outcome in life. I love you, baby girl. I'll fly you back to visit me and your friends here soon, okay? Just while you're out there. Make some new friends, okay?" my father said, hugging me tightly and kissing my forehead.
"I love you too, dad. I will try." said softly, my eyes starting to water. I walked towards the lady holding the door open. I needed to walk through to get to my Plane. I turned around one last time and gave my dad a wave goodbye. Finally, on my plane waiting for take off, I put one earbud in and started listening to my music to calm my nerves. I was nervous as hell. I was hoping this plane wouldn't crash while I'm on it.
Eventually, I arrived in Florida. I was tired, I didn't sleep on the flight because I was too busy being scared as hell. I got off and waiting for my bags to my come. Put my bags on the luggage slide and pushed my stuff outside.
I had to have been looking for my mother and her new husband for about 30 minutes. Texting and calling, trying to figure out where the hell they are. Finally, my mother's husband Timothy pulls up the truck in front of me.
"Hey, kiddo, welcome to Florida. Let me help you with those bags. " Timothy Said hopes out of the truck and throws my bags in the car. "Oh honey, how was your flight? I've missed you." My mother Jessica said as she hopped out of the truck to give me a give embracing hug. "It was ok, I guess, I was nervous. I appreciate the help with the bags Timothy but please be more careful these suitcases are not cheap. My dad just got them for me. " I rolled my eyes after finishing hugging my mom, I opened the back door of the truck and got in with an attitude.
I looked at the window as my mother and Timothy gave each other a look of awkwardness. I guess if they thought I was happy to be here at first, they know now that I am definitely the complete opposite.
The car ride to Timothy and my mothers home was quiet. Once we got there, it was a long paved driveway that passed electric fences we turned on too. The house was so big and beautiful. I saw a water fall fountain, a rose garden, and they even had a horse.
"Maybe it won't be bad here after all," I thought to myself. They showed me around the house and to my room, which was big. I had my own bathroom, which was cool, and a walk-in closet. That's a must. I definitely have a lot of clothes and need more if I'm going to ve staying here.
That night, I ate dinner and called my two best friends on three-way call. I called my dad afterward and then got ready for bed. My first day of school was tomorrow and I was so noy ready for this new kid bullshit.
