‘Homecoming’
As Lucius Metellus Anguis began to move more easily about Ynis Wytrin, accustoming himself to his scarred body and its way of moving, Etain, Weylyn, and Gilmore observed him from a distance. They watched as Lucius slowly allowed his wife and children to get closer to him, an act that allowed the healing in all of them to truly begin, for they were stronger together.
However, even as the physical healing progressed, and Lucius’ strength began to return minutely, Etain worried about other aspects of Lucius’ return to the world.
“He still spends most of his days alone,” she said to Weylyn and Gilmore one morning as they sat beneath the oak tree watching the waterfowl along the loamy shore. “He lingers at Annwn’s gates and waits for I know not what.”
