‘Embers of an Empire’
Rome’s empire was not only a stage upon which the Gods played, but one to which they gravitated as an audience to see the great comedies and tragedies of mortal existence play out. There was some truth to the thinking that the immortals manipulated and coerced, but even the Gods had to admit that most often, it was mortal choices that led to some of the greatest loves, battles, and bloody ends that played out upon that great stage for the pantheon’s pleasure.
