Lucius walked back to the cabin amidships and slowly opened the wooden door, the sound of which blended in nicely with the constant sway, creak and groan of the massive corbita. Inside, through the increasing light of the awakening sun, Lucius could see Adara lying upon the fleeces spread over fresh straw. Phoebus and Calliope lay to either side of her, both soothed by the rocking. Lucius was relieved to see they had adapted to the sway of the ship, for it would have been a long journey indeed had they not. He almost did not want to wake them for fear of disrupting their peaceful dreams. Maybe they’re dreaming of Ynis Wytrin? Phoebus certainly had expressed his longing for that hidden sanctuary, the place that had saved them all. He smiled sadly as he looked upon his son. So young still
