I sat by the window, my knees pulled to my chest, watching as the morning sun rose lazily behind the treetops.
My thoughts were a mess right now, from the conversation I had with Brain last night, to the rogues attack, but most of all, Brian’s mother’s warning that still echoed in my head like a slow drumbeat.
It wasn't just the words that buried deep in my skull, but the feel around it.
It felt almost like a death threat.
