CHAPTER 8 Raine's POV The sound of snapped branches jolted me awake. My muscles jerked, and my eyes shot open with alarm. I craned my neck, groaning from the pain shooting up my spine, and tried to figure out where I was. The last thing I remembered was running, hazy vision, cuts and bruises all over my body. And then it was pitch black. I tried to get up when it hit me. I was in rogue territory, alone and at night. Pain shot up my arm, and I looked down at it and gasped. My left hand was caught in a bear trap. I suppressed the immediate urge to scream as the fangs of the trap pierced into my skin, drawing blood from every part of my wrist. "Help...." I whispered. That might have been a mistake. Because then I smelled them. Wolves, running at full speed, towards me.
