Raina POV
I followed Rory out of the pack, going through what he said was the quickest and safest exit, a secret tunnel.
The tunnels were damp and winding, lit only by the flickering torch in Rory’s hand.
I clutched my fists tightly, my thoughts spinning and my heart pounding not just from pain, but fear—raw and thick.
Every step echoed like a warning, each breath scraping against my lungs.
“This way,” Rory whispered beside me, his voice strained. “Almost there.”
I didn’t know where there was. Safety? Freedom? None of those words meant anything anymore.
Not after what I saw in my vision, not after that blood bath I saw at the hands of this monster called Malrik.
