Yasmine Lucian has been acting like a d**k since we left earlier and it's really pissing me off. He's acting like I'm some kind of disgusting creature whom he wants nothing to do with, I don't get it, I thought we were getting along great, but I guess not. I pull into my parents driveway and we take the groceries in the house. "Oh my gosh Yasmine, thank you so much for helping," Melody says once she see's me and pulls me in for a hug. "Of course Mel, you're going to be my sister soon," I tell her and she smiles. "We're still outnumbered, but we can definitely outsmart the boys anytime," I laugh and my phone rings, I pull it out and see it's my agent. "I have to take this," I go out to the backyard and answer. "Hey Millie." "Who's the best agent ever?" She asks and I roll my eyes. "You are, but how?" "I just got you the lead role in Peace, Joy & Love," she tells me. "That's a television show right?" I ask her, I wanted to do television in the beginning, but I wasn't a big enough name so I kept getting passed on. "Yes ma'am, it's about a girl who graduates from college and goes back home, she sees her first love again and they reconnect and fall back in love, but she's hesitant because the first time he couldn't fully commit to her," she explains some of the plot and I contemplate whether or not it's for me. "How many episodes is it?" "Ten to start and if it gets green lit for a second season it'll be twenty-two episodes. It's set to start filming next month which is perfect because Deranged 2 will be wrapping by the end of this month." "When will the show wrap?" "It should wrap by mid September, there's a six month film schedule," she says. "Okay yeah, I'm in," I tell her and she claps. "Great, I'm going to call the director and let him know." "Alright love, I'll call you when I get back to L.A. we can get coffee and talk," Millie's been my agent for about four years now, but we've been friends since I moved to L.A. "Okay babe, later." "A show huh?" I spin around and almost hit Lucian, but I catch myself when I see it's him. "Don't do that!" I yell and he holds his hands up. "You know you really shouldn't eavesdrop on peoples phone calls." "I'm sorry, I was sitting out here and I overheard your call," he explains, he has a sad look on his face and it makes me soften my tone before I speak again. "Um yeah, my agent got me the lead in a new show." "Congratulations," he smiles. "Thanks," I say and go to turn around. "Yasmine wait," he sighs and I stop, but I don't turn to face him. "What Lucian?" I ask hesitantly. "Look I'm sorry okay? I'm not trying to send you mixed signals, but your Cris's little sister and I-." "Whatever," I scoff and walk away. My mom looks at me and frowns once I'm in the kitchen. "What's wrong sweetie?" My mothers accent calms me and I smile at her, the fact that we've lived in the United States for over twenty years now in a country town and my mother still has her accent like me makes me happy. Hunter has his as well, but we're the only three that didn't try to lose it. My dad never had an accent because he's American. "Nothing mom, I'm fine. I can't say much about this yet, but Millie got me the lead role in a television show," I say and a huge smile breaks across her face. "That's awesome honey, I'm so happy for you." "Thanks mom," I tell her and she gives me a hug. My family are definitely huggers, except for me. I don't like to be touched ever since this guy almost took advantage of me one night, but I'll never pass up a hug from my mom, it reminds me of my childhood and brings me comfort. "Let's get cooking," she says. Everything's going smoothly for a while until I try to pick up a ten pound beef chuck shoulder. My wrist gives out and I wince. "Are you okay Yas?" my mom asks and I nod quickly. "My wrist just gave out, I don't know why," I tell her and she looks at me before walking to the entrance of the kitchen. "LUCIAN? Could you come here please?" "Mom no! He's not here to work." "What's wrong?" he asks coming into the kitchen. "Yasmine's wrist just gave out," he comes over to me and looks down into my eyes. "May I?" he asks holding out his hand. I hesitantly slide my hand into his and his touch sends jolts through my wrist and up my arm. He holds my wrist so gingerly and moves it around and asks if it hurts, at first it doesn't and then he bends my hand a certain way and I yelp. "Oi!" I yank my arm away. "I'm sorry, I think you might have slept on it wrong, maybe take some Ibuprofen, that should help with pain and any swelling that may occur," he says going fully into doctor mode. "Thank you," I say quietly and go back to helping make the food, I avoid picking up anything heavy and just focus on the small things. After all the food is cooked I steal an appetizer and go sit in the living room with the boys. "Hi princess," my dad greets me with a hug and kiss on the forehead. "Hi daddy," he's been at work since I got here and I haven't gotten a chance to see him. "How are you? How's the love life, any guys I need to meet?" He asks and I laugh, he's always telling me that I need to meet someone and settle down, which should be my moms job, but he always beats her to it. I see Lucian glance over at me waiting for my answer and I decide to mess with him a little bit. "Actually daddy there is this guy I've been seeing, I think it might be getting serious," I tell him, Lucian's face drops, but then switches to a look of disdain and then changes to neutral like he doesn't care. "Well when do we get to meet him?" my dad asks and I giggle. "I'm just kidding dad, there are no guys for you to meet because for some reason no one's interested in me," Cris snorts at my statement and Lucian shakes his head. "But I'm good, we're wrapping up for Deranged 2 soon, so I'll have a couple of weeks until my next gig." "So will you come home again before then?" "I can't make any promises yet, but I might be able to make that work." "Yas what's your next role?" Cris asks and I shake my head at him because he knows I can't tell him yet. "Cris I-." "Can't tell you yet, yeah yeah yeah," he pouts and everyone laughs at him. "Don't be a baby man," Lucian laughs and it's so adorable, I want to grab his face and kiss him, but to him I'm just Cris's little sister so obviously it'd be weird.. "Whatever, anyways Yas go change," he says and I raise my eyebrows at him, so he continues. "I don't need anyone trying to get in your pants tonight." "Cristopher, I am a grown ass woman and I'll do what I want," I tell him. "And for your information I was going to change anyways." I get up and walk out of the living room. "Your son is ridiculous," I tell my mom as I walk pass the kitchen and up the stairs. I grab my bag and take out a pink loose ruffled long-sleeved baby doll dress and a pair of black Saint Laurent sandals. I change and sit on my bed for a while. I hear guests start to arrive and finally build up the patience to go downstairs. "Ohh Yasmine honey, how are you?" My dad's sister Georgia asks stopping me and looking me up and down. "I'm good auntie, how have you been?" "I'm good, how's acting going?" I know she's asking because she didn't think that it was a smart thing to do. "Great actually, I'm about to wrap up filming for a movie soon and then I start filming for a tv show after." "That's good honey, I still recommend that you get a real job though, you never know when the acting thing will stop working for you," she says and I press my lips. "Thanks for the concern and not to be disrespectful, but I don't need your advice when it comes to my career," I say and walk away. My aunt Georgia had an issue with me wanting to be an actor since she found out about it, she tried to tell me to be practical and that it would never work, but she was wrong. "Your aunt was really out of line, I'm sorry," Lucian says and hands me a glass of wine. "Thanks, she never really supported my career anyways so," I shrug and sip from the glass. "I'm sorry about earlier Yas," he starts and I hold my hand up to stop him. "Don't worry about it," I say and he looks sad. "Everyone, dinner is about to start." Everyone grabs a seat around the table and somehow Lucian ends up next to me. "Okay let's join hands in prayer," dad says and Lucian holds his hand out for mine, I take it and look up at him before closing my eyes. My dad says the prayer and we start to assemble our plates. The dinner goes nicely and once it ends the family starts to leave, the only people still here are my siblings, Jacob, Lucian, Melody and my parents of course. The sound of thunder changes everyone's mood and my mom turns on the news. "Well it looks like no one's going anywhere right now," she says as the thunder sounds again, but this time the sound of rain joins in. I walk into the kitchen and grab another glass of wine. The power goes out and I hear a cry come from Jacob so I go into the living room. "Titi Yas?" Jacob tugs at my dress and I pick him up. "It's okay Jakey," I tell him and he buries his face into my neck, when Jacob was born he had a mom in the picture, Daliah, but as he started to get older she couldn't take the heat so she bailed, it was obvious that something was wrong and even though we all tried to be there and help out when needed she decided to walk out on her marriage to Hunter and her son, we haven't heard from her since. It pissed me off to the point where I thought that if I ever saw her again I'd immediately go ape s**t on her because how can you bring yourself to leave your child, but as Jake got older he started thinking of me as a mother figure because despite the fact that I live in L.A. I still make time for him, I take him for weeks at a time when Hunter has to travel for work and I constantly come see him. "Boys there are flashlights and candles in the drawer beside the dishwasher in the kitchen, could y'all grab some for me please?" Mom asks the boys. "Come here Jake, it's time for bed mister." "But grammy I wants stay with titi Yas I scared," he says hugging me tightly and laying his head on my shoulder. "There's nothing to be scared of bud, I'm going to be there with you," one of the boys hands her a flashlight and she holds out her arms for him. Jake hesitantly lets her take him out of my arms and she lights the way upstairs. I go back into the kitchen and pick up some crackers and cheese. Lucian I walk into the kitchen and see Yasmine's silhouette leaning against the counter, her breasts are pushed up and look delectable, the dress that she's wearing forms to her body, it shows every curve and her round hips fill the dress perfectly. The image of me sliding my hands up her legs and taking the dress off of her pops into my mind. Relax Lucian, she's still Cris's baby sister. "Hey," I say and she turns around to face me. "Hey," she replies. "I forgot to tell you that you look gorgeous," I tell her and I can hear her breath catch in her throat. "Thank you," she relaxes and steps closer. "You don't look too bad yourself." "What are you doing for the rest of the night?" "I know what I want to be doing," she mumbles. "What do you mean?" I ask confused, she pulls me closer and grinds her body into mine. "Are you telling me you don't want to be inside of me right now?" the question comes out breathlessly and my body shudders against hers. She lays one hand on my chest and the other on my budding hard-on. I'm trying so hard not to give in to my feelings, but she's making it so damn hard, especially when I keep finding myself being drawn to her. I'm about to lean down and kiss her when we hear footsteps coming towards the kitchen. We break apart and I readjust myself in my pants and my head clears. "Yasmine? Lucian? Oh here you are," Mrs. Harris says. "It's official, no one's going anywhere tonight, so Lucian you can make yourself comfortable because you're stuck with us hon." "Thank you Mrs. Harris." "No problem sweetheart," she walks away and I turn back to look at Yasmine. "What was that Yasmine?" I whisper harshly. "You need to stop!" "You can pretend you don't want me as much as I want you, but we both know you're faking, I'm the actor not you," she spits back. "I'm not faking anything, you're Cris's little sister it can't happen." "If that's all you see me as then we have nothing else to talk about," she says and turns to walk away. FUCK! I'm an i***t.
