The Orphans Home

391 Words
All I remember before I got Liam is that I was born, given up, moved around from orphanage to orphanage, and then when I was 11 I was moved to a small orphanage in New York City, Little Angels Orphanage. It was a disgusting place that smelled of dust and manure. By the time I was 13 I ran away. I was tired and frankly fed up of being in that small place with nothing to do and no one to talk to! The owner Mr. Miler would abuse some of the smaller children and no one would stick up for them, they were all too scared, including myself. I was selfish. I was only thinking of myself. I ran to the nearby train station and hopped on the tracks, not knowing where I was going. At least I knew I was free. It was hard the first couple of days. The train had taken me to a nearby town right by a small river called Mist Field. It was a small quiet town with a couple bakeries and a very tiny supermarket. I would wait until closing time and see what the owner would bring out to throw away and try to take, but the second time I got caught. The owner told me to leave and never come back, he called me a filthy thief and  said that I would never survive in a world like this as I was. He said I was just living to die. I had a purpose in life. I knew I did. I didn't want to be born and then die of starvation. I had to step up for myself no one would throw a skinny dog a bone. I got a job in Mist Field and saved up enough money for me to buy a train ticket away from there. I ended up going to Ivy Valley which wasn't a valley anymore but a big bustling town with giant apartments and schools, diners and cafes. It was perfect but everything was so expensive. I got a job as a waitress at the nearest diner to where I was living. I thought that my life was terrible back at the orphanage but I shouldn't have taken it for granted. I had to fend for myself now. No one was around to help me.
