Melanie was torn between shock and sadness on seeing the handsome billionaire on the screen of the television. She just had a one-night stand with the popular arrogant CEO of the Lee's Enterprises, and she also found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her on the same day.
"Do you know him?" She snapped turning to her friend who nodded her head in agreement.
"Who doesn't know Harry Lee? Don't tell me you don't know him. He's the most eligible bachelor in California, I mean he's every woman's dream man. You don't know how much I wish he's mine" Janice replied dreamily with her eyes shut.
"This is surely a nightmare, and I think I'm going to wake up from it any moment from now" Melanie pinched her cheek to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"What nightmare? This is no nightmare girlie. So do you know Harry Lee?" Janice narrowed her eyes, and Melanie gulped hard as her heart beat increased. She blinked her eyes rapidly to stop herself from crying.
"Can we please not talk about this? I just don't want to talk about it at the moment" Melanie turned her gaze away with years streaming down her cheeks.
The best thing she could think of was to move on, and forget the horrible things that has happened to her. Holding unto them will not only be a setback to her, but will also break her heart.
She had already decided that it was over between her and Collins. No matter whatever he does, she would never accept him back into her life. Not after he cheated on her with her friend.
Few minutes later, she perceived the aroma of a strong coffee in the room. Raising her head up, she saw Janice walk into the room with the saucer and cup.
"Here girl. I think you need to calm yourself down for some time. Don't forget that you still have to get to work early tomorrow" Janice tapped her shoulder, and she nodded sluggishly before taking the coffee from her, and sipping it.
"Thank you, Janice" She mouthed, and exhaled deeply with a sigh of relief. She wrapped herself with the duvet, and turned off the table lamp with tears circulated in her eyes.
"Get a hold of yourself Melanie, he doesn't deserve the tears you're shedding for him" She muffled to herself, and wiped the tears off before shutting her eyes.

At exactly 6am, the alarm clock rang noisily. Melanie's grumbling, groaning and covering of ears only confirmed her consciousness.
"Gosh! Who gets rudely woken up by a clock they bought with their money, and accommodates in their home?" Melanie grumbled as she sluggishly got up from the bed yanking the duvet off her body.
Melanie rushed into the bathroom for a quick shower. Of course, she knows she shouldn't be late for work. Knowing fully well how Mrs Smith, her supervisor could be so mean.
She got out of the bathroom with a bathrobe, and a towel rolled up with her hair. Her cellphone beeped, and she picked it up. It was a message from Collins. She quickly deleted the message, and dropped her cellphone on the bed immediately.
Few minutes later, she was already hurrying down the stairs with the files on her hand, and her hair neatly tucked behind her ears.
The aroma of the scrambled eggs filled the whole apartment. There was no doubt that Janice was the creator of the aroma. They sat at the dinning for breakfast, and Melanie rushed off immediately after few spoons of food.
Melanie flagged down a cab, and hopped in immediately. She couldn't afford to take a bus since she was already running late.
She works as an office assistant in a sales company under a strict supervisor. If not for the fact that she needed the money to support the family, she would have long quitted the job because she wasn't really getting along well with her strict supervisor Ms. Smith.
"Good morning ma'am" She greeted her supervisor immediately she stepped her foot into the office. There was no response from the mean looking lady who glared hard at her.
Her heart skipped a beat. She knew at once that she was in big trouble.
"What's good about the morning, Ms. Johnson? You're five minutes late again, and I'm getting fed up with your lack of punctuality" Ms Smith yelled at her, and she exhaled deeply. She was expecting this anyway.
"I'm... I'm sorry Ms Smith. I was stuck in traffic, you know how Monday mornings are" She apologized with her head bowed.
"You better pray hard that we don't lose this investor because if we do, I'm afraid you're definitely going to lose your job here" Ms Smith smirked mischievously at her, and Melanie raised her head immediately.
"What are you talking about ma'am?" Melanie furrowed her eyebrows at her with a questioning look.
"You have been selected to become an assistant to the new investor of this company. You'll have to do more than your best because we can't afford to lose that investor because he has so many shares in our company. I hope I've made myself clear?" Ms Smith eyed her, and she nodded her head reluctantly even if she wasn't comfortable with the new development, she had no say in the affairs of the company.
"Oh here he is. Meet our new investor, Mr Harry Lee" Ms Smith stood up with a smile, and Melanie quickly turned around.
A gasp escaped her lips the moment she saw Harry Lee standing right in front of her with his usual warm smile.
Was she going to work as an assistant to him? How would she cope with him?
