Walking out onto the patio, Isabelle blinks, allowing her eyes to adjust to the darkness. The patio is dimly lit, with a few strands of fairy lights wrapped around the railings and solar lights that outline a seemingly never ending pathway down the garden. The sound of the wind chimes singing in the cool breeze, sends a feeling of peacefulness through Isabelle's body.
Looking down at the dark stain on her blue long sleeved, mid thigh length dress, she wonders how she will get it out, before resting her hands on the railings and letting out a long sigh. The rhythmic sound of footsteps approaching interrupts her thoughts, but she doesn't turn as they stop, not interested in who it could be.
"Hello beautiful", spoke the deep, husky voice. She recognised the voice, as she was sure every girl did.
Feeling proud that she hadn't turned to look at him, Isabelle felt her heart quicken as she responded, "whoever you are looking for, they aren't out here".
A faint chuckle fills the air, "oh, I believe they are".
"Well, don't let me stop you".
"Isabelle", he states, with both confidence and softness.
The sound of her name on his lips causes tingles to coarse through her skin, a slight blush heating her cheeks as she turns to face him and absorbs the sight before her. A tall, handsome guy, with eyes as blue as the sky on a summers day, jet-black hair that could rival the darkest of nights, styled perfectly and a smile that can momentarily make you forget who you are.
"You know my name?" Isabelle questions as she mentally curses herself for stating the obvious. Amusement laces his face as he steps closer to her, the confidence radiates off of him, along with a fainty woody aroma, that has a hint of citrus.
"Let me introduce myself", he begins before Isabelle abruptly cuts him off.
"No need, I know who you are. You are the complete tall, dark and handsome package, mysterious, every girls dream guy, everyone loves you, its like you're a god." Isabelle's eyes grew wide and her cheeks reddened more as she slapped a hand over her mouth at the realisation of what she had just rambled out.
The look of amusement remains on his face as he closes the gap between them. Standing directly in front of her, Isabelle breathes in his scent, as he tucks a loose strand of her mahogany brown hair behind her ear, keeping eye contact as he does, before placing his hand on her cheek, rubbing it with his thumb. Isabelle closes her eyes, trying to calm her heart as she reaches up, putting her hand on top of his, butterflies fluttering in her stomach, she embraces the moment as long as she can, knowing this won't happen again.
"There you are!" A high pitched voice exclaims, ending the moment. Isabelle opens her eyes, noticing he is still looking at her, she drops her hand from his. He lets out a deep sigh as he removes his from her cheek. With the girl now standing with them, Isabelle takes a step back, lowering her eyes as she composes herself. "What are you doing here?" The girl sneers.
"Amber!" He interjects with annoyance in his voice.
Raising her head, Isabelle mutters, "I'm just leaving", a triumphant grin on Amber's face.
As she starts to walk away, she feels her hand being engulfed a larger one, stopping in her tracks, she turns her head and looks into his eyes, and whispers, "goodnight Liam".
With heart beating fast, he releases her hand and watches her walk away, "goodnight Belle".
