Chapter 6 “Hand me that hammer,” Sawyer said, holding his hand out blindly from where he stood under the deck. He was helping Gage replace a partially rotted beam under the deck behind the ski lodge. The back end of the lodge had a sprawling deck that stretched across the entire central portion of the resort. It was level with the second floor where the restaurant was, affording Sawyer the ability to be able to stand under the deck while he and Gage worked. He wiggled his fingers when the hammer wasn’t forthcoming. “Any minute now.” He felt the rubber handle land in his palm and curled it in his grip.
