JASPER POV
"Jasper, we gave you a choice. But you didn't take it?" The baritone voice that sounded like a kha made my skin crawl.
That's right, I could feel the presence of the elders, who appeared out of nowhere. They even brought some soldiers to protect their lives. It doesn't make sense; would I be able to fight them all by myself? Even if Roslaie becomes a vampire,.
I'm not sure if Rosalie would be that strong to fight them. The creatures are duking it out. What a strange perception. Besides, I hope that Rosalie can find a way out. I wasn't sure how or who was following Rosalie.
"I need time, don't you understand?" I asked.
Suddenly they burst out laughing, and I could see Mr. George, who was there, starting to shake his head. Signaling that I must immediately submit and obey them. If not, then this worse incident will happen twice.
"We've tried to understand your situation. Don't you understand? We, already, gave you time, even if it was the right time to change. Why didn't you do it?" asked one of the elders.
I fell silent again; it wasn't the right time to fight. However, my emotions were overflowing right after the elders laughed at seeing me tormented like this. "I don't want to change it," I honestly said.
My honest words drew all attention, including theirs. I knew they would get angry, protest, and so on. As they snarled at me, I could feel another sense of pressure from them. What a life filled with laughter and jokes!
"Jasper, I hope you're joking," one of them said.
"I'm not going to turn her into one of us. She doesn't want that; I'll just erase her memory," I said back. It was my unanimous decision; I was going to leave Rosalie.
I really am a hypocrite; yesterday I said I would never, ever want to leave Rosalie. But now, somehow, I feel this is the best choice for me and for her. When I saw Cassandra in the distance, she ran over and slapped me after finally arriving right beside me.
"Rosalie believes in you, Jasper. Even Ethan himself was ready to sacrifice his soul! How can you?"
"What am I supposed to do? She doesn't seem happy when she's with me. The pressure I can feel when she's with me makes me feel like she'd be better off with someone else. Be happy with her friends and loved ones," I explained.
Of course I didn't want this, but was there another event to free Rosalie from all this pursuit? I didn't want to ruin her life because she was tired of being with me, who wasn't even human.
"Tell me, Cassandra. What should I do?" I murmured.
I didn't realize it as soon as my tears just fell. On the other side, I could see Mark smiling. He felt victorious; he had made me suffer forever. I didn't know where to start to erase the memory of Rosalie. I really didn't want to do it.
"Good, you'd better let the child go," said one of the elders.
Could I just kill them? My hands were itching to kill them. However, a pat from Ethan made me realize that his gentle gaze made me remember his words before. Would I be happy if I let go of my family? However, would I be happy if I let go of Rosalie?
Rosalie, forgive me for not being able to keep my promise. I thought

I was now under the street lamp. The place where I first saw Rosalie's emerald-like eyes. It was so beautiful and elegant that for the first time, the feelings that were lost after a long time came back. However, this feeling of love will be displaced again for the sake of Rosalie's own well-being. When I realized that Brilly was in front of me, she was not far enough away. I just laughed. Who would have thought that one day I would also work together with a demon like her?
"Tell me if the message you sent next was just a joke," Brilly said, annoyed.
I smiled and shook my head. "I meant it," I said.
Just then, my body was crushed against the lamppost as Brilly leaned forward and strangled me. "Are you crazy? Erasing Rosalie's memory isn't the only way!" Brilly annoyed.
"Please take care of her. You're the only one who remembers my form on campus. The other students don't remember her. I Sudha erased their memories," I said.
"A demon like me won't obey your orders; you know that for sure," Brilly said.
"It's not an order, Brilly. It's a request, and I'm sure you'll carry it out," I said.
Right after that I could hear Rosalie grumbling in the distance, that's right. The forest she passed through earlier was a break from her old home, at which point Brilly disappeared into thin air. Meanwhile, Rosalie who saw me was shocked and ran towards me with her legs full of blisters.
"How come you're here?" wondered Rosalie.
"Looking for you, of course. After finishing off my own comrade earlier, I immediately looked for you. It's great that you were able to resist the urge to look back, Rosalie," I said as I ruffled her hair.
"But, your face looks different. I mean, it's very sad and looks like you're about to cry," Rosalie said.
It's all because of you, Rosalie. I want to cry because you're in front of me right now, I thought.
"It's just your feelings, maybe I'm just tired from fighting earlier. You seem to be in a lot of pain yourself," I said as I looked at her scarred leg.
I hugged her for the last time, when Rosalie hugged back I really didn't want to lose her. I didn't even care if my family or even Brilly herself were around. During the hug, I grasped Rosalie's hand, intending to erase her memory secretly.
"Do it," said Rosalie.
Suddenly I released the hug, with our hands still clasped together. I could see Rosalie's sincere smile. However, on the other hand I could see that she was holding back her tears.
"If letting me go is the best choice for you. Just do it now," she said.
I didn't want to speak up, a situation like this left me not knowing what to do. "Rosalie, I'm sorry for meeting at the wrong time," I said.
"Time is never wrong, Jasper. It's just that the universe brought us together too soon. Even though fate said we'd be together, only the universe didn't approve. I hope you won't regret your decision one day," Rosalie said.
Our hands were still clasped tightly together. As if not letting this link slip away. When I looked at her, and she looked at me. I could instantly feel her whole world collapsing.
Rosalie, I hope we meet again at a more appropriate time, I thought.
