ROSALIE POV
"Ouch," I said. I was just about to curse at someone when he bumped into me suddenly. The book I brought from the library just fell down; unfortunately, he didn't help me and just walked away. Wow, that kid is apparently looking to die with me.
"I'll help you," someone offered. I didn't recognize him; he looked very strange to me. Is he a child of another faculty member? But at least I knew other faculty students who used to go to the library. Is this the first time he's been to the library?
"Are you new? I've never seen you at all before," I said as I picked up some books and took the book that the new kid picked up.
"We're in the same class; it's just that I moved here about a month ago. It's all because my parents' jobs are always changing places," he said.
"Oh, really, then I apologize. Also, thank you for your help," I said with a smile.
The man nodded with a smile. He said goodbye because he said he was in a hurry to do one of his assignments, so I returned to my main destination to go home. With some of the books I brought for my research assignment. And some of the novels that I didn't have time to finish.
How many days has Brilly been invisible since our meeting in the park when she gave me ice cream? Brilly has been nowhere to be seen until now. I wonder how she will fare on the lecturers' marksheets.
I'll never follow in his footsteps; now I'm on a path near the forest. Honestly, I'm still not used to passing this way after moving back to my house. For some reason, it feels very creepy passing here, as if someone is staring at me from the direction of the forest.
Just as I passed under a streetlamp, my head suddenly felt very dizzy. There was a strange buzzing that I heard, and it made me really hurt; even my book fell back, and I sat down on the side of the road. Trying to get rid of the pain.
Until finally, the pain disappeared and made me realize that someone had collected the books that had fallen earlier. When I saw the young lady in front of me, I just smiled as I accepted all my borrowed books from her hand.
"Thank you very much for your help, Miss." I didn't know what to call her, as she looked younger than me.
"Glad to help you, Rosalie. By the way, what's wrong with you? You seem to be in a lot of pain just now," she said.
I was a bit surprised when she mentioned my name so explicitly. She herself looked surprised when she realized her behavior. I suddenly raised one eyebrow and looked at her with a little scrutiny. Have I ever met her? Or was she my college classmate?
"I know your name from the name tag you're wearing," she said, pointing at the name tag stuck to my flannel shirt as she laughed.
I laughed, lamenting how stupid I was. "Gosh, I forgot that I was wearing it. Thank you again for helping me," I said as I waltzed away towards my house.
However, I could see that the woman had not left the previous place. She was still glued to her previous place while smiling at me; because of this, I was not scared and ran a little into my house. In addition, I was even more surprised when I didn't see her again when I wanted to open the door to my house. Even though the distance was not too far from the route earlier.
Before my mind drifted any further, I quickly went inside, ran towards the light switch, and immediately turned on all the house lights. I took off my socks and ran to the bathroom to wash my face with my usual face wash.
"Damn, did I just meet a ghost?" I muttered as I looked at my face in the bathroom mirror and quickly came out, shuddering in horror.

BRILLY POV
"You managed to scare her," I said to the girl who was peering at the house from behind a tree.
"I didn't mean to do it, you know that," she snickered.
"She won't recognize you," I said.
That's when her clawed hand flew towards my face; luckily, I was able to parry it first. Before those beautiful claws of hers scratched my handsome face, "You're no different from Jasper, Elle."
Elle suddenly turned her gaze towards Rosalie's house. It seemed like it wasn't just Jasper who missed the girl; the entire Cameron family missed her presence. Rosalie had already occupied a certain position in their family.
As deep as their relationship is, I thought the relationship between humans and vampires was limited to predators and prey. I never knew that they could have a more special relationship than that. Honestly, Orion told me to be neutral, not to favor any particular camp.
However, I never agreed if Mark intended to harm Rosalie. Especially to the extent of forcibly turning her into a vampire, I know Rosalie does look like a person who is tired of her life. However, she will not give up her life for free to others. Subconsciously, Rosalie has many reasons to live peacefully and quietly. I'm sure she'll get the life she's been dreaming of someday soon, even if it's not now.
"I'm still curious how Jasper is strong enough to deal with all this. I feel like a failure as his sister," Elle said.
I looked at her for a moment, then back at Rosalie's house. "He flows, like water. Going with the flow of life with resignation and without resistance," I said.
"You seem to take it for granted to see her like that. You devil," Elle grumbled.
I wasn't angry; after all, what she said was true. I felt no pity or sympathy for Jasper. It was exactly as Elle said, because what Jasper was feeling wasn't the most agonizing pain.
"At least Rosalie's alive," I said.
"Isn't it the same thing? Jasper lost the person he loved, and-"
"It's different; they're just separated. Loss means one of them is gone," I said.
Elle was silent; I'm sure she understood the meaning of what I had just said. In fact, it was like that. They are only temporarily separated; just because memories are lost does not mean they will lose each other. They are just waiting for the right time to be together again.
"Have you ever felt that?" said Elle suddenly.
I turned to her and laughed. I had expected that question to come out of her mouth. Making me reopen an old wound that I had closed tightly. "My sister—at least she was my real sister. She died because she couldn't control her dark side," I explained.
No, she was killed because she couldn't control her dark side, I thought.
"I don't know if you've ever experienced it for real. I thought you were just making it up," Elle said.
